Homer = Unusng Hero

His burst allows him to clear the 1st and 2nd level unexpectedly, especially late in the game. He’s a good back that will need to develop his ability to anticipate running lanea based on fronts and blocking schemes. But. He should have gotten carries earlier. There’s no reason we should be force feeding an injured Walton over Homer. It’s dumb personnel game day management.

Just like we shouldn’t be forcing the ball to a slow, and unwilling to compete, guy like..... Cager.

I love Homer more than most, but I think part of Walton playing was CMR, and Brown wanting to send Walton out with every chance. But yes Homer should have touched the ball at least 15 times or more.

Lol lotta butthurt homer homers. They must think Richt is a brain dead ****** who would rather play a massively hobbled Walton over Homer for NO ******* REASON. Like do you all realize how stoopid you all sound?

Homer should have been in there wayyy earlier. Walton was dancing in the backfield looking for the hole. With the O-line getting pushed back that doesn't work. Needed Homer in there to just hit the hole with speed.

Homer and Herndon were HUGE in that last drive. I truly believe that Homer is the next GREAT Cane RB

Love me some Homer but cmon guys the defense was set up for the pass. Walton could have made those runs.

It was moreso good play calling by Richt to put some runs in

Not so fast;

Homer broke a couple of key tackles that would've kept the clock going if not for his will and balance. Dude moved the chains and that clock stoppage was critical. Yes FSU was playin the pass, but he had to out run Pugh and I believe in the next run, he broke a tackle from Pugh.

It's hard for people to actually comprehend but Walton is good yes but really suffers against better competition. HisYPC against teams with a pulse is below 4 I believe. I've said it before and I'll say it again to the more burn we give homer he will start looking better than Walton. Walton just stutters at the line and tries to bounce it out too much. Which is why he struggles when facing faster defenses. Homer is a one cut smash the hole back which is more effective in games like today where you just need to take the 3-4 the defense gives. Don't get me wrong I like Walton but I'm a bigger believer in homer with the way we run rpo

With the backs we're getting.. low key i hope Walton bolts for the league.. dude just can't perform against tough comp. Part is O-line and Part is vision. Plus we haven't had Homer's speed/explosivness since Duke Johnson honestly.
Easily the most redic thing ive read today... Is this the onion?

It makes no sense to me that on offense Richt does not get players like Homer and Herndon involved early but on defense we play bad players like Knowles and Smith. Knowles crippled our defense all by himself for Christ sake

Yes, we looked real stupid last week when the game was out of hand and we were all clamoring to get a clearly hurting Walton to the bench. But Richt didn't and then he exacerbated his injury. Which carried over to this week and made Walton ineffective against FSU. Then we really looked dumb when Richt FINALLY subs in Homer on the last drive and he gains more yards in two carries than Walton did all game. Coaches aren't infallible. They're capable of making mistakes. This is one that we don't even have to speculate on, the proof is in the pudding.

Not butthurt all, Walton is a beast. But much like FSU did, with success, rotation can help.
But we won. Moot point

Exactly. Walton also had a few holes earlier in the game but didn't have the explosion to hit them clean .Homer hits it done he's healthy.

Mark is not better than homer injured and it's not close. Richt should've used homer more. It's a bad look to keep putting a guy out there and riding him so hard when he's obviously hurt. And it's more then just " shaken up".

The rbs made a lot solid blocks on the blitzes . Homer should have ran the ball more he was gaining 5 yards every time he touched the ball . Walton was hurt that obvious

Maybe the reason why Homer got more carries was that the OL got its **** together the last couple drives? You think that may have factored in to the coaches letting Homer play more? Or are you still going to cling to your ridiculous narrative that the coaches willingly put up a hobbled ineffective Walton over Homer for no ******* reason.

There was a few times the ol opened some creases but Walton just couldn't explode through. He also could've bounced a couple outside and got some good yards but when he bounced he couldn't out run the d. I saw a dl run him down one play.

Putting a guy out there that can't even out run a dl because of health is silly. I know he helped a lot in pass pro but he couldn't bring anything to the run game. The ol actually gave the backs a few chances , he just can't explode.

I don't know why that's so hard for you to understand. A split second is the difference fro a long run or a no gain. He doesn't make those runs homer did at the end.

Mark is a warrior but it up to the coaches to just sit him. At 50/60 % he's not close to homer or even Gray.

Saw the replay... Agreed on his second run now that I look at it. Walton would have been tackled short of the first down, potentially wasting a timeout.

Great for Homer. Him and Malik, pleasant surprises
