Its absolutely inexcusable that we haven't beaten FSU in Miami since 04. 14 years and our fans haven't seen a beating of FSU in person. Consider we have beaten them 3 times since then all on the road. This needs to end Saturday. Its no wonder recruits were getting poached because this game is always the biggest home aggregate of recruits visit and since they have been able to make sense of life we have been losing to those clowns. It must end. It more than likely gonna be a dog fight but we have a better team and we must show it by beating the **** out of them from a physical standpoint and let the rest take care if it self.

it is excusable because until Dr Frenk came here we suck and most of these years we were still competitive against FSU. We may lose on Saturday because while we have a better team our punting game sucks, Nkosi have to go thru the growing pains and our offensive line is questionable at times. We are getting better but I really hope we don't have to punt.

As for the losing record at home since 2004, remember this was the era of Donna Shalala, in which our athletic department and facilities were neglected. We didn't pay our coaches well, hired below average coaches and were on constant probation. This is changing now, under Julio Frank, we are spending money on athletics, have upgraded our facilities (ie IPF), we hired good (maybe not the best but good) coaches and as a result we are more competitive and the fans are coming back. While I don't know if this is going to the year we finally beat FSU here, I don' expect to take another 14 years.

nah...

It's Mark Richt. He has clout and the BOT needed to make assurances/commitments before he came on. President is an extension of the board, especially a brand new one who barely knows his way around the campus. Look for Dr. Frenk to be a difference-maker at the medical school. The resurgence of the football program has been a long time coming. Money helps win football games but not more than talent and a great coaching staff, which is what CMR has assembled. Ask FSU & UF.

I agree with your comment but somehow the attitude of the BOT changed after Frenk came in to be able to make those necessary assurance and financial commitments to Richt and the football program that were never made when they searched for the 3 previous coaches. When Golden was fired I told my wife to expect us to hire an up and coming coach from some Northern Western Southern Eastern University

The attitude may have changed when Richt said I'll put up a mill of my own and lead the IPF campaign, recruit well, run a clean program, and you're gonna win 10 games every year no matter what. It was timing in a lot of respects and Frenk happened to be sitting in the seat when all the other factors came together.

It was strategic, right? You don't put the money up unless you're sure it's coming back (ROI). With Richt they knew the tickets, donations, and program revenue would increase, so it's easier to put your chips behind a guy like him. Plus Donna had raised BILLIONS and, thought she's gets criticized, a lot of the changes we attribute to Frenk were already in motion (IPF, Dorms, Adidas) before she left. Richt really motivated a lot of people because he's a proven winner, was by far the best candidate, and we've been chasing him a very long time; those factors should not be underestimated, IMO. The previous coaches didn't show enough results to leverage that type of investment (despite Golden's raise) and BOT need motivation to move finances on that level, not neophyte presidents.

i think you have it *** backwards. the BOT was the one that changed first and then everything fell into motion and place.
