Home Game, Advantage or Distraction

Advantage you get to be in a somewhat normal routine.
I like that Indiana cruised. Either they are the most legit team in a minute and they beat us pretty good, or they come in with a false sense of confidence and they dont know how to handle it when we start flexing. Maybe I'm hard headed, but as much as I respect the job Cignetti has done, I don't fear them at all. Go Canes.

Focus, that's all we need. The rest, it's just part of the show that has nothing to do with the game itself. It's an individual thing, do you let it get in, distract you or do you keep your eye on the prize. What was said beforehand, it matters not at all, believe in the plan, adjust as needed, it's you against the guy lined up in front of you. Who wants it more? Don't be a hero, execute your assignment, believe in your teammates, let's go!

Regardless of the crowd breakdown, our guys are going to want to put on for their city.

They’re going to lay it all on the line like they never have before.
The boys from down here going to be extra motivated! They got they friends,
Family, old teamates out here watching. They going to be extra juiced

I wanted them. We both play bully ball. I know they take deep shots but they win by being physical and I think we are that if not more but with better players. The only team they played similar to us is OSU but they don’t have the pass rush we do.

Not having to travel makes it a huge advantage. Though.. I wonder if we still get the per diem travel money.

One thing I'm watching is if Oregon/Indiana makes us wear our away uniforms on our home field. Since they're both higher seeds I'm pretty sure they get to make that call.
We are forced to wear our white tops. We are the lower seed.

Miami plays in Miami. There are always distractions. It will be an advantage as I think the stadium will be at least 75% UM fans, and the other 25% will be too scared of catching a beating in the blue lot if they get out of line.

Yes we need to keep all Miami tickets for Miami fans. The split in the peach bowl was crazy.

surely they'll wear home red

more pertinent IMO is if we'll stick with storm troopers or go white over orange as we did during title clinching Orange Bowls for '83, '87, '91...

Advantage is playing the game in your home stadium and Indiana driving to the game and seeing that this is a legit road game atmosphere for them

I think the crowd will be balanced, maybe 65-35 miami.

Disadvantage is yes our players have prepared here before but the buzz around the city is completely different right now than ever before. Very easy to get caught up in the light and worry about the celebrations before finishing the job

There’s gonna be family and friends of these kids that will be trying to get in contact with them like never before, it happens to professionals these are kids not that far removed from high school

Mario should tell them get the ticket and extra activity situations handled in the next two days and then completely cut off all distractions besides close family/friends.

Indiana not having any ties to the city the game is in could be an advantage, they only have to focus on football and nothing else. They will come even more locked in because they know its a road game, we should not treat this as if our crowd will make a difference. Execute and dominate as if this is on an even playing field

I thought the all whites ARE our away uniforms?

I'd bet the team will stay in the hotel mutiple days. It's the Natty. There are likely media requirements, etc in the day or so leading up to the game.

Wouldn 't be surprised if they go to the hotel Saturday morning ...

It's an "event", not a regular game.

Man, I feel like we've already won, but I know we have a really serious game coming. I think Mario is gonna have to be really-extra-super diligent to keep the noise out now. What do you think? Is this an advantage or a disadvantage?
It’s a national championship game in our home stadium. It’s a massive advantage! Don’t you think it was an advantage in 1983 as well. Why would you even ask this question, of course it’s an advantage. It’s a home game.
