Many rules to live by in football and we all know well that leaving the game up to the ref is recipe for disaster.
Never EVER leave it in the refs hands..
Unless of course his name is Terry Porter and he's paid under the table to throw the game for a bunch of asshats living in Columbus Ohio.
Swept under the rug is an understatement.. no reviews, no controversy, no media outrage.. just a pure scandal. If it was reverse roles without a doubt Jim Tressel and company would have sued the NCAA for whatever they could and the ref would have some explaining to do.
Instead we get confetti on the field, fireworks going off, Coker hugging everyone, players jumping up and down, championship hats being handed out, I'm crying in the living room ecstatic all for the clown Keith Jackson to say 9 seconds later:
"hold the phone everybody comes running on the field, you've got to get off because there is a penalty flag thrown and I think its against Miami"
Those words are cemented into my brain..
Dan Fouts in the short replay they showed says "BAD CALL" "BADDD CALLLL" so he at least acknowledged the horse**** but old corrupt money Keith Jackson knew what the plan was the entire time, throw the game for Ohio state no matter what it takes. He aided in supporting the call on live television which he and Terry Porter should have been publicly blasted for but social media didn't exist then. If it was todays game Terry Porter would have been fired / forced to resign or found in some drainage ditch near Overtown for that one solo call and Keith Jackson would have lost all reputable status agreeing with the fckeye cheaters.
Nope its like it never even happened, swept under the rug "Miami lost the game, Ohio State won" BULL****
It was just another game for most but not us, it changed the course of both programs and the landscape of college football forever.
