Holy crap..

You don't need a Saban or Meyer type to win at UM Huh??......Well please name one Non-elite coach to win here??
Shnelly - elite
JJ - elite
Erickson - elite
Butch - elite recruiter and unmatched evaluator of talent, enabling even Clappy to hoist a trophy.......

Erickson Elite? From what I understand, he had an all star coaching staff. Then he went to ASU and the sun shone.

Richt actually had wining records vs both auburn(i think 9-5) and Tennessee but I digress.

They've been dog **** for years so he should have a winning record vs. them. Tennessee's string of head coaching hires in the last decade has rivaled ours for stupidity.

Forget whether he’s a good coach

He’s going to continue to start Duhlik

WTF is that ****?!?!?!

It’s awesome how most people just try to personally attack posters or call them trolls if you aren’t a homer this should be cultinsight.com
**** is crazy

Alot of them are mad that we r being negative but telling the truth so any compliment u ever gave anyone other then Miami they will use it against u to try and bait u, but I never get mad at people trolling me I laugh I think its hilarious cause I know they burning inside.

Mark Richt was an offensive coordinator under Bobby Bowden, coaching up two Heisman winners (Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke) and running the offense on two national championship teams (1993, 1999) before getting the Georgia gig, where he went 145-51 over 15 seasons—winning the SEC East six times and the conference, two. He then won the ACC Coastal year two at Miami, when the program was 0-fo-14 before his arrival.

Ryan Tannehill was an overrated prospect from Texas A&M who only went where he did in the 2012 NFL Draft because (1) it was a weak QB class, (2) because he had a prototypical QB size / build and (3) because the Dolphins' front office is a joke. He has had a sub-par career and literally accomplished nothing.

The comparison because Miami fans are too short-sighted to admit that Richt walked into a garbage situation—that is going to take more than two full recruiting classes to fix—shows how little some of you know about football, as well as this program.

Carry on being unfunny.

Last time he won the SEC was in 2006. he had a losing record against his main/biggest rival, UF (including 1-2 against Ron Zook).Constantly **** the bed in big games and was quickly becoming a dinosaur in the SEC. Fans are upset because the same problems/issues that got him fired at UGA seem to be rearing their ugly head at Miami. He is continuing to stick by a qb who has shown to be one of the worst ever to play at UM, his staff is largely sh*t. His best days as a playcaller seem to be behind him. Refuses to hire a competent OC, much to the dismay of the fanbase. I could go on but you get my point.

Richt is 9-10 win coach who will never win a Championship and be forgotten as soon as he retires.

"You are what your record says you are." -Bill Parcels

What would YOU say Richt walked into? Miami got handled by Clemson, 58-0 two months before he showed up.

Al Golden went 32-25 in four-and-a-half years, prior to Randy Shannon's 28-22 run—after Larry Coker's 6-6 faceplant.

Miami football went 67-53 between 2006 and midway through 2015—with a three-year NCAA investigation that hung over the program and killed recruiting for a few years. What would YOU say Richt walked into?

Yes, he still has a lot to prove in regards to getting Miami back on track—but two seasons in with a Coastal Division win under his belt (something Miami was 0-for-14 doing in the years prior), a win over Florida State, rolling Notre Dame and a 10-win season that ended with an Orange Bow berth—based on the garbage football the Canes played for over a decade prior—Richt doesn't deserve to have everyone up his *** and on his back one game into season three.

Misguided frustration from fans screaming that "We've been rebuilding for a dozen years, BRO!"

Miami has been rebuilding since 2016. Everything prior to that; the program was still bottoming out under its third incompetent head coaching hire in a row.

I'm not arguing any of that.

I'm arguing any comparison to that slug Ryan Tannehill; a guy who's done zero in a six-year NFL career, versus a proven success of an offensive coordinator and head coach who's been on the sidelines or in the booth since 1985—three years before Tannehill was even born.

Dumb comparison. Period.

Or the fact you were literally eating Willies balls Monday night. Raving bout his great recruiting, and creative playcalling. Raving bout how he dominated on NSD and he'd build up FSU.

Still think his offense is great? Half his plays went for no yards or losses.

Stop sucking off the enemy.

He was never going to outcoach anyone everyone knew that, he was suppose to recruit sfla hard and out talent everyone like what most elite coaches do. Obviously he cant do that cause he cant close here its too much for him too dirty he cant hang

Then we really should have hired Butch. Heis not out coaching anyone but is recruiting god. Plus his staff goes on to HC and NFL. I wrongly assumed Mark would be the better coach. Ireaaly hope he can find the inner Cane fast.

This is why I wanted Butch because him being here hurts other schools as well it weakens everyone else

our coach is elite he's just elite at being 8 to 10 wins a year. his track record proves this beyond doubt. maybe its just time to accept reality that we will be good but not elite

theres nothing wrong with that. the expectations and goals of the fans do not equal those of the ones pulling the strings.

like i mentioned in other posts wether you accept it or not a national title does not due much for the miami brand. as long as miami stays relevant with 8-10 wins a year but most importantly the program stays clean, CMR has accomplished the goals of the higher ups.

honestly it is what it is.

I JUST REALIZE..

Mark Richt is the Ryan Tannehill of coaching. Check this out.

- They aren't terrible at what they do but you get the sense that unless the team is loaded top to bottom you will never win or even sniff a championship game with them at the helm.
- When they play talented teams they always fold.
- Average record against rivals (For Richt: Florida, Tennessee, Auburn (Now: VT, FSU) (For Tannehill (Bills, Jets, and Patriots - and when ever we play the ravens)
- Even when rivals have a down year they still manage to lose to them even in embarrassing fashion sometimes.
- When they are on national TV they pick the worse time to perform like
- Both are considered just nice guys.

Mark Richt is one of the best college coaches in the game, he’s not Saban and Meyer, which run a program a crazy way with no care except themselves. This typically wins titles, Richt is not that but you all are just sounding stupid. OSU fans wanted Urban fired a year ago because they didn’t make playoffs.

Get off the ledge, Season didn’t start like we wanted, team will get better and let’s see how it rides out.

But chill geeeeezzzzz, Ron Zook is Tannehill

Richt is PHILIP RIVERS or Dan Marino

I mean this goes both ways, I’m a fan of Richt but I 100% disagree on how he’s handling QB situation but to say he’s Ryan Tannehill is just foolish also. Stop being so dramatic and also for the other side not everything Richt does should be accepted as bible

as great as football is the money does not come close to academic research institutions that are pumped full of money by the NIH.

as school like stanford gets over 400 million a year from the NIH in grants and funds. thats the money the school wants. football money is honestly chump change compared to NIH money and money from alums that join and partner at massive law firms and hedge funds.

thats why the school has different objectives bc with some tinkering UM could be a major academic player. schools like alabame georgia clemson they aren't even close so they focus on sports

its not hard to follow but most are in denial

I wanted Butch also ReaL bad, like disappointed when Richt was hired because I wanted Butch so bad, but the more the years go on the more thankful it was Richt, I don’t think things in the program would be the same (in-door facility, U networking, ect). Butch is at the end of his career and it would have been a John Robinson 2nd run type hire, it wouldn’t have been the same as when he first had the job. You hear nothing about Butch, and lane is everywhere, times have changed.

Thank you. All the bashing is getting hard to take.

I'm as depressed as anyone over the loss but can we please let the season play out.

Its the same people that seem to be enjoying pouting on and on. Sure they lost 4 games now. They also won 15 straight last year. Its a prosses so before you write the team and coaches off lets see how they rebound.

No one expected them to win 10 games last year and they did. Richt was voted coach of the year by his piers. Hes only been here 2 years!!

1 loss, season opener at that does not define a team. Some on here are really embarrassing, but not unexpected.
