HOF Could Have Beens

Watching the 2003 UM-FSU "Sean Taylor" game. Just thinking about what could have been. Sean Taylor would definitely have been an NFL Hall of Famer and likely considered one of the best players ever. Beyond that, Kellen Winslow Jr. would have been a HOFer too had he not been such a head case. Thoughts? What players from other schools fit this category?

Jerome Brown was obviously gonna be a HOFer
 
Tragic deaths stopped Jerome Brown & Sean Taylor from having HOF careers. I think that with better health in the pros, guys like Jessie Armstead, Michael Barrow, and Dan Morgan could have been HOF caliber linebackers. If Clinton Portis stays in Denver, I think he's a HOF caliber RB, and if Willis McGahee doesn't have his knee exploded in the Fiesta Bowl, he's also a HOF caliber RB.
 
ST would’ve been the best safety of his generation, HOF would’ve been a first ballot guarantee imo.

A sneaky pick was Shockey if he had stayed healthy. Could’ve snuck into 10k yards if his legs didn’t get ruined before the concussions hit.

I’m worried Wayne might have to wait and be a late inductee. A lot of really good WRs are gonna make it really difficult for him to get in before that.

Reggie is better than torry holt or Issac Bruce. Reggie is top ten in yards all time. He should be in but the voters don't value wr and he played with Peyton manning and Andrew luck.

I agree. My worry is with guys like AB(who probably will take some time with his off the field issues) AJ Green, Julio, etc coming up soon it’ll be tough. That’s not even mentioning guys like Suggs, Watt, Brady, Big Ben coming eligible. Just seems like the odd man out until the senior committee or whatever votes him in later.

Hopefully he gets it next year. If not I don’t see him getting in until later.

Rusty Medearis. Dude stood out in THAT era amongst other elite dudes. LIGHTNING off the edge. As a 9 year old, witnessing Hicham El-Mashtoub cheap shot and take out his knee is still the probably the saddest athletic injury situation that I've ever seen.

That terrorist robbed us of what I believe would've been a 150+ sack career filled with Pro Bowl and All-Pro nods. Also robbed us of going 2 for 2 with NFL HOF D-Linemen from the Ozarks during that era(Cortez RIP)...

To me he was a better football player than edge and edge got in before him. Edge was special wish he never tore up his knee but to me Reggie was a better football player. I don't think AJ gets in. Julio was like a Megatron lite. Ab won't get in because of his antics. Reggie should be in that colts offense with him pey marv and edge was special.
