Why do you guys do this to yourselves?

LMAO i gotta tell ya, some of you dudes must be an absolute pleasure to go thru a season with. here, i'll answer the question for you. because we're ****** fans of a football team. typically what happens is you attempt to see the silver lining in a loss or whatever and HOPE that your team gets it together and then you can win the rest of your football games.

i guess the alternative is to go into the next game kinda sorta but not really excited and sit there hoping my team wins. same thing for the next game, next game, on and on. but no, i'd rather hope we win our games and get excited. lol

All in all, we at least beat the Vegas odds which stood @ 7.5. Plus, the Canes looked a little better than I had anticipated (except for the OL) and UF looked a bit worse than anticipated. I was impressed with JW @QB and w/experience he will learn not to hold the ball so long & will gain a sense of urgency.

Honest question, do you feel worse after this loss or last years loss to LSU?

To me, last year's loss was worse. We weren't even in the game. This year, regardless of 10 QB sacks by the Gators we came within 4 points & beat the Vegas odds too. And, our team did not give up, plus I think we found a good QB.

Let's just think about UNC. After that game maybe we can have a better idea of what this team can do.

Miami has struggled in the past up their even in 2017 when we almost finished undefeated so yeah that will be a small test but a test.

Yes.

I am expecting we dominate but with our OL and stupid mistakes it could be a lot like 2017 all over again.
Hopefully we play more disciplined.

Can we have some fun on this board every now and then.

Yes, please feel free to have fun.

But comparing the current team to the great teams of the past who dropped the opener isn’t fun when history doesn’t end up repeating itself.

Some considered Nebraska to be one of the best teams ever back then, and we certainly were not considered title contenders.
Just saying

I remember 83 well. Graduated from UM in 80. Watched Jim Kelly play. No one I knew back then ever expected Miami, a small, private school, ever to win a football championship. EVER! (Except maybe Howard.)
83 was a Cinderella season. Even after making it to the Orange Bowl to play Neb. (remember-only polls back then, no championship series) UM was ranked only 5th. Somehow, Texas, who was undefeated, lost to lesser ranked Georgia and Illinois got destroyed by 4 loss UCLA. Who could have imagined both of those things happening. Osborne could have kicked the extra point at the end of the game and still won the championship in the polls but he was man enough to put it on the line. So many things had to fall into line that year for UM to win its first championship. It was so unbelievable and I was so excited when Calhoun knocked that final pass down in the end zone that I promised myself that, if UM never won another game again, I would always be a fan. Everything they won after that was just gravy.
I don't know what this team has in store but it is early in the year. Why not sit back and enjoy the ride?

They dubbed the U, “The little red engine that could.” I met Calhoun with his girl ( I believe), shopping in the Grove. I congratulated him, and thanked him for his contribution to the ‘ship.
