Zook was only coach at UF for a few years. Urban didn’t have a huge rebuild

Belotti did a good job of making Oregon a competitive team but they weren’t really contenders. Chip Kelly took a really good Belotti program and made them a bit better but neither fits the criteria I’m looking for.

Dabo went 29-19 his first four seasons as a head coach. He eventually made Clemson a power but it took years.

Stoops fits the bill. He went 7-5 his first year but 13-0 his second season at Oklahoma.

Brown is close but he went 9-3, 9-5, 9-3 his first three seasons at Texas. So his results weren’t very drastic immediately. It took a bit for them to really break through into the ranks of the contenders.

I know people will disagree with you on the money thing, and while they may have a point, i would be willing to be Miami doesn't have the 21 mil to buyout a coach and then pay a new coach, staff, recruiting budget, and all of that.

However i would agree with the people that would argue we probably have, lets say, another 1.5-2 mil to spend on coaches.

Everyone else thinks the same thing and big $ schools haven’t been successful.

He’s content at a place where winning 7 games is great. He’s not going somewhere demanding 10 Wins or else that recycles coaches every 4-5 years for the last 2 decades (that goes for every “power” program that has had an opening recently)
 
I have to wonder how many coaches we can go thru. At some point, either it is systemic (Blake?) or we just are what we are. I love my Canes and get as bent out of shape as anyone when we lose. Maybe we are what we are, enjoy the good and endure the rest. Am I a beta or do I just crave correct LB alignment pre-snap.
