Hire who?

Every coach is a risk. Saban was 6-5, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6, and then 9-2 at Michigan State before he took the LSU job.

The eye test for Campbell goes in his favor. His teams play hard, they love him, and there is arguably no worse job in the P5 than Iowa State when it comes to facilities and recruiting area.

He's done a phenomenal job there and would be a home run hire for the Canes. But we won't get the opportunity, because he'll be gone if/when Manny gets canned.
After his two horrible losses this season, his team recovered to being number 6 in the land. He would be a great coach at Miami. His team would be disciplined and he would not tolerate players like Amari Carter getting kicked out every **** game. Oh by the way, he has enough sense to start the best players for the team. Not start players because they are 5th year Seniors

I’d like to know too. These idiots saying firing Manny Diaz act like they can name another coach outside of Saban, Dabo, Jimbo, or Meyer who’s actually proven to be a success. What makes you idiots think that if any of the coaches you want didn’t win **** where they were... will win at Miami????

At this rate my guy, I have no idea. I sometimes wonder if Saban or Dabo could even fix this. It’s crazy but how do we find the most stubborn and oblivious to the obvious head coaches. Beyond me.
I respect this because it shows you're at least thinking before pulling the trigger.

You don't know this. Its all speculation. As soon as he drops a game you'll be with the rest of them calling for his head.

Matt Campbell don't have the stomach to croot down here.

Make Manny work, new defensive coaches at DC, LB & CB

Improve on field discipline

Saban would end college football if he was here. Actually end, we'd win it every single year.

Saban is great but he wouldn’t win like he does if he had to play by the same rules as everyone else
He wouldn't have to. He'd be able to do whatever he wanted here through the player likeness stuff. They'd have high school kids getting paid 200k to get picutres with car dealership owners.

NO **** right - Its not as simple as that, and there is major fallout when you change hands of an organization, that would hurt the program severely at this point. In a challenging year being 8-2, with all ACC play, no cupcakes is still a great year. The super negative canes fan bull**** is so old. He has earned the benefit of doubt in showing how he responds and changes things.

I will say, there does need to be growth and an adjustment to Manny & coordinators game preparation and in game coaching. Coming off a bye week, with losses as he has consistently is coaching. Lack of in game adjustments has also shown through. He cant be players best friends and needs to set a stronger tone, period.

However, he has proven to be the best in the longest time, at building a program, which is very challenging. The way recruits and analysts view the program now is far better than it has been the last 15 years. #TNM, and the caliber of recruit over the past few years has been very good, with many of our recruits being better players than their rankings in some cases. There has been team unity, and again due to a good job building a strong recruiting department. There is cohesion between recruiting, the coaching staff and the school execs. Has has brought back in old canes, and ensuring that family ties vibe is there, which is huge for long term success. He has been quick to right his wrongs, i.e firing last coordinator and bringing in lashlee. from that choice we landed King and are likely landing our top QB recruit in 20 years! He has connected wtih players like no other coach, and they are bought in with how he has handled the BLM protests, and helping them with things off field such as voting. This resonates with players and families, so he's doing a great job building the foundation of the program - They just need to toughen up and prepare better than they think they are.
You must literally be the stupidest poster I’ve ever seen on here and that’s saying a lot as these place is full of a lot of dumb@$$es. This corch Manure has lost his team, I repeat LOST his team two ******* years in row dip$hit! Have you even watched the last two years? They quit on him both years and that’s supposed to mean manures built a lot of team unity? Lmao and you had the balls to mention TNM 🤢🤮 the new Miami huh, so the new Miami is the Miami that is the WORST Miami in the history of our program in just two years of manure leadership! Worst defensive performance in the HISTORY of the university of Miami football against UNC incase you forgot even though it just happened 5 days ago. Last year lost to 2 group of five teams in the same season. One right across town that’s a commuter school that will taunt us for life for that and the other in a bowl game where we were shut the **** out! Yea TNM is really working well bro. Smh and what Fvck does BLM have to do with any of this ****, this is CFB where your job is to win games, not virtue signal yourself into “media fame” and ESPN behind the scenes “feel good stories” 😢 😭 smh. It’s porsters like you that enable the SJWs that have been running this program into the ground for the last 16 plus years because youre more concerned like those losers with image instead of winning ******* football games and championships. Well good job sir because you have your image back again in coral gables and that’s the image of SUNTAN U because that’s all we are again now. Funny how things come full circle huh sport? 🤢🤮

You are going to catch a ban and have no one to blame but yourself

You’ve been around since 2017 and haven’t seen this discussed 10000 times? We won’t pay the proven guys. That’s why we have to get someone on the way up, or someone on the way back up. We literally don’t have any other choice.

But that’s my point. Anyone proven is not leaving their position. And at this time it seems that Saban, Dabo, Jimbo, and Urban are really the only ones. We got Mark Richt who many would agree is a top tier coach and the UM fanbase wanted him out. Smh. I’m okay with Manny cause these recruits want to play for him. He just needs to do a better job of who he surrounds himself with. Let go of Rumph and Baker.

I see what you’re saying but constantly missing on coaches isn’t acceptable. We don’t need Saban. We play in the worst division in CFB and still can’t find a coach that can win it. That’s incompetence.

I loved the Richt hire. Nobody could’ve seen him tying himself to his son and not being willing to consider a change. But at least he was palatable bc he’s been there done that.

Giving Manny his first job after he was part of a failed staff was a joke. Paying Temple $4 million for him was an even bigger joke. It was Randy Shannon all over again, just more expensive.

Our fan base grossly overestimates how attractive this head coaching job is. We have average to above average facilities, the best recruiting territory but it is insanely competitive and fluctuates on almost a daily basis, an AD and BOT that isn’t 100% committed to making this a championship program (based on speculation of assistant salary pool and size of recruiting support staff), and we don’t have an on campus stadium.

I’d be hard pressed to find a P5 coach that would want to come here over an SEC gig and maybe even a BIG 10 gig. It’s an arm race and these coaches know they need the full ****nal to compete.

I really don’t know who we could realistically replace Diaz with even if we have a blank check. What proven coach would be on the first plane down here after we have fired (assuming Diaz and assuming Richt was strong armed into retiring to save face) our 5th straight head coach.

Can anyone give a list of coaches who have taken over a former powerhouse program that’s had a decade + of mediocrity and immediately made them a contender? I will give you Nick Saban at Alabama. Has anyone else in modern football done this? Is it plausible to believe that there’s a coach who can turn Miami, Texas, USC into an immediate contender?

Urban Meyer after the Ron Zook years though that was well short of a decade.

Mike Belotti / Chip Kelly at Oregon

Obviously Dabo at Clemson.
Bob Stoops at Oklahoma

Mack Brown at Texas

Every coach is a risk.
Hiring Campbell instead of Diaz in 2018 when you put their resumes side by side is a no brainer
I'm not sure i can disagree with what you're saying, but it didn't happen that way. And in 2020 Matt Campbell, while good no doubt, comes with significant risk too. You said it best every coach is a risk and i agree with that statement
