Hard to do with esd right there. I honestly think it's worse to have coaches recruit through the signing day just to let them go though. Feel like it hurts with the trust of the kids you sign.

Plus I rather have Cooney or DVD on the road recruiting than Gattis's dumba$$ holding a camera while we search for his replacement

ESD is 12/21….

Gattis has been a known issue since about 9/21.

The season ended on 11/26. More than enough time to have fired him 11/28 and move on ahead of 12/21…
 
Mario preaches being honest and upfront with all the players. Hopefully he’s telling O recruits that the offense will look much different this year than last and can do it without letting the cat out of the bag.

how would he know? he doesnt call plays. he doesnt scheme. O skill guys were hesitant w mario (you can take a look at our recruting and see where the holes are) bc of the offense and nothing was proven wrong by mario. its gonna take a concrete hire at this point imo.

If/when he hires a new OC, surely he’ll ask what type of offense he runs. Mario may not call plays but he’s not completely ignorant about offensive schemes. He did play OT.

Today with NIL and the portal it is making all coaches jobs who are in a rebuild ten times harder than it has ever been. Finding players who want to finish the job and try for that national championship is a rarity today. Forget the free education it means nothing.

Since only 1.6% of the college players get to the NFL... It should be a requirement that all the athletes are offered and attend career counseling to get some sort of a reality check.
