Props to the Cane Nation for showing up and energizing Hard Rock! It’s never looked better on TV - with the packed house, pom poms, lights, video’s, etc. Awesome job and it shows that Miami can create an amazing home game atmosphere when we have a team that’s worthy of it!

I know it took 3 minutes to ruin the entire evening, but still a job well done Canes fans.

Hopefully someday we ‘are back’ and can create this more often.

Go Canes!

Ya know, I got to thinking about this last night. The stadium and environment was awesome last night because the fans think of it as a big game, even when both teams hovering around .500. Here's what hit me...

Being in the ACC seems to have hurt the environment of home games. Aside from Florida State and Va Tech, there is not a single game on our annual schedule that we consider a rival. In the Big Ten and SEC they play games each week that seem like a big game rivalry. We simply do not have that in the ACC. Both of our rivalry games (FSU & Va Tech) are carryovers from our time as an independent/Big East team.

No one in south Florida gives a rats asss about playing Duke or UNC or UVA. Those games just dont wet the whistle of the local market.

I dunno. Just something I was mulling over in the stadium last night while watching our wide receivers quit on their routes as soon as a DB got within social distance of them.
