How many times does it need to be explained that these lists are useless b/c Miami is a private school that isn't required to report salaries???

This is a guess figure.

Ok, so we're guessing Al is paid 2.6mil/yr. It gives us a ballpark.

How much more would you guess the BOT would be willing to pay? 1mil? double?

Well several making less that our Al manged to beat him. But the one the jumps out is BUTCH FRIGGING DAVIS $000.

It's not a guess, it is from Miami's Form 990 filed with the IRS. However, that is what he made during the fiscal year that ended May 31, 2014. He more than likely made more in the fiscal year that ended May 31, 2015 (maybe $2.7 ish, if you look at how his compensation has escalated over the last few years - I've posted those numbers before.) For the fiscal year that ends May 31, 2016 (assuming he will be owed for that entire period, he may be close to $3 million.

Look on the 17th page of this form after you read the first page to see what it is: https://pp-990.s3.amazonaws.com/201...86b50e631c75fd5da123af325a3d11255e95bce96fda4

The playing field for college coaching is changing quickly. Used to be, when the NFL called, there was nothing a school could do, because the school couldn't match the salary. I might get some of this wrong, but I think it was 2010 when the the ACC signed it's first big TV contract. They were thinking they were going to get 6 mil/per school/ per year. Last year Miami got a little over 20 mil, I think. That why college coaching salaries are skyrocketing. There is a lot more money in the budgets for coaches. Miami is going to need to expect to pay 5+ million if they want a good coach. But anyone looking at the coaching landscape know that.

Its crazy that the ACC paid a combined $240M to its schools in TV money alone, but the players get suspended if someone buys them a cream cheese bagel
