Last year and he must have taken pay cut like Norvell
Yes, Norvell’s contract got “restructured” after last season and he now makes $5.6M. Several million was given back the school because they needed donations. True story.

Stoops didn’t take a pay cut - others’ salaries just got higher.

From link below, dated 10/5/25:

Stoops is making $8.6 million per year plus incentives after he signed an amended contract extension in November 2022, with the deal running through June 2031. To fire Stoops, Kentucky would owe Stoops 75% of the salary remaining on his deal.

Yeah, he's not going anywhere.

No way UK pays that $$$ to a football coach, now a bball coach is a different story.

I didn't look much but $8.6M < $9M so to me that is a pay cut

I don’t even know why they would want to. Stoops has been there for a long while now, can say he’s beaten some of the top SEC teams, and does well enough there to avoid embarrassment and sell tickets. He’s fine for them.

The hilarity of it all is that as mentioned. Norville had to take a pay cut because “poverty u” you couldn’t afford to fire him.

And as much as I love Mario, he does not need a raise. There’s only one school in the top 25 smaller than Miami and that’s Notre Dame. The only other program that’s close that’s in the rankings is Vanderbilt.
The college coaching pay scale is out of control.

Surprise, surprise, ESPN was incorrect! 🤣

This is good, thank you! Very helpful to see it all listed in table format, and with bonus / payout / buyout all broken out.
So looks like Miami has the best deal going and it ain't close.
