Maybe Sept 6th when we play FAMU, we should dismantle their *** as a good will gesture to SoFla football players! I am talking drop 100 points on that ***!

That is life. Scholarships are not guaranteed. Coaches need to stop being emotional girls.

The coach has every right, and frankly duty, to protect his players, his KIDS from these predatory practices.

It is the duty of the mother and father to protect their kids and not some coach. Players decommitt all the time. So why is it such a big deal when a University decides to go in another direction?

Kind of a big deal when the school chooses to drop you the night before signing day leaving you with no options, after being committed to them over a year. That is ****ed up

Yeah if you don't think FAMU is wrong for this, I don't think anything can convince you otherwise. The coach, as a leader, role model and often times father figure, is doing the right thing.

Kids (recruits) are expected to act like kids. Adults (college coaches)are expected to act like adults. The expectations are higher for adults. FAMU's actions are disgusting.

Would neg you if I could.

Moron.

Agree. Once an offer is accepted the school should honor it until the player says no.

There has always been an unwritten rule about this stuff. If a coach ACCEPTS a kid's commitment (this is why people often ask if a kid has a "committable offer.") and then chooses to go in another direction (ie: no longer accept his commitment) then that coach typically calls around to other schools and finds a roster spot for the kid they are parting ways with.

It is usually easier for a BCS caliber school, as they can usually call a mid-major and get a kid a spot. I dont think FAMU has schools that want its cast-offs.

Father figure? The majority of student athletes have fathers in their lives

People are paid to win games. If you have to cut a player then it must be done. Most Universities send out over 100 plus offers with only 25 spots available. If Cook or Valentine wanted a roster spot some kid for UM will be told to look somewhere else.

It is part of the business of playing sports.

You don't pull the offer the night before signing day. Coaches with a clue and a conscience don't do that.
