Honestly, I think Cory Hetherman might be the single most overrated coordinator in the history of college football. The guy is literally stealing money from UM.

His success this season is 100% the result of the players overcoming his shortcomings. I think any team looking to offer him more money or a head coaching job should take heed of my warning here. You wont want him.




Side note: I think UM should offer him an extension and pay raise to make him one of the top paid DC's in college football.

Here's a stat courtesy of OBB recap show on YT: Since SMU, the UM defense has allowed 44 points. That includes 4 conference games and 1 on the road at a SEC playoff team.

Assistants make or break a team. When really good assistants leave a team, it can become the downturn of a successful program if they aren't replaced with similar talent. Hetherman is a gem and deserves the rewards of his efforts.
