What's crazy, is even with Mario's roster management, even if Miami had the two of some of the best OC and DC playcallers in the nation, I still am pretty confident this program couldn't win a title with Mario's penalty team management, end of game strategy and clock management.
You'd still find yourself in a handful of close games due to penalty's and **** happening, and inevitably he'd coach himself into a loss with those three factors over the course of 16 games of which a lot of the teams at the end would have some of the best staffs in CFB.
Remove the other noise (and there is a lot of it), players and calling aside, dude is that bad when it coasdfmes to penalty management, strategy and clock management.
People forget even some of the games we've won of the last couple of years were near misses due to his team being undisciplined and his bad strategy and clock management.
In 2023 (the Kneel game), Miami had 6 penalties for 80 yards
In 2024, Miami had 9 penalties for 110 yards against Cal.
In 2024, Miami had 6 penalties for 59 yards
In 2024, Miami had 7 penalties for 55 yards
In 2024, Miami had 9 penalties for 90 yards
