EI'm shocked at the continued disrespect Fuente gets.
Most guys on here swear they'd love to have Gary Patterson. Well, he was coaching in the Mountain West the last few times we've had an opening.
Fuente coached with Patterson, ran his offense, developed Andy Dalton, has resurrected Memphis football, developed Paxton Lynch, beat Ole Miss, won 10 games and a bowl game in his 3rd season, already won the conference, is undefeated in 2015 ... Is on a 14 game winning streak AT Memphis.
Serious question: If Ohio State was left out of the playoffs last year, and beat Ole Miss in a bowl game, would Herman still be getting the same love? Or is it because he has the national championship ring?
And before anyone goes to the extreme ... I'm not anti-Herman. I just don't get how so many people overlook what Fuente has done. It's the equivalent of what Briles has done at Baylor ... Who was an awful program before he got there. Same thing is happening at Memphis.
If we don't hire Fuente, it will be interesting to see the revisionist history.
It will be like every time I read about someone claiming they wanted Mark Dantonio before Michigan State got him. I've posted this before ... But look at Dantonio's tenure at Cincinnati. Nothing in his record suggested he would be this good.
Fuente actually has selling points that suggest he will do really well at the Power 5 level. He can actually coach!
And because he can coach, he can hire recruiters. Win, and recruits will come. Win in impressive fashion, and they will be lining up!
