Herman & Butch are like 1a and 1b for me. Way above the rest. Would be happy with Fuente. Wouldn't be mad with Chud. Would be very angry with anyone else.

If that's the final top four that's a much better final group than when golden was hired. If we're not going to hire butch then I hope the search continues into December because that would mean chud, Mario, or schiano wouldn't be the coach

1. Herman
2. Butch

3. Fuente--still a bit skeptical, but would be happy with the hire
4. Strong--situation at UT scares me, risk.. Muschamp 2.0?

As of today

1- Butch Davis.
There are no certainties and anyone we hire has a certain amount of risk.
Butch has his flaws but at this moment what we need is what he does best. He is the least amount of risk.

2A- Fuente.
Has a record of achievement at Memphis. Multiple years. Impresive wins. Bowl wins etc.
Sharp contrast to what Golden did at Temple.

2B- Herman.
Would be 2A if not for the small sample size as a HC. Upside outweighs the risk IMO.
But it's why I have the other two ahead of him.

Nobody else at this time.

I don't believe the Strong rumors. I smell an agent trying to get some security for his client from Texas.

EI'm shocked at the continued disrespect Fuente gets.

Most guys on here swear they'd love to have Gary Patterson. Well, he was coaching in the Mountain West the last few times we've had an opening.

Fuente coached with Patterson, ran his offense, developed Andy Dalton, has resurrected Memphis football, developed Paxton Lynch, beat Ole Miss, won 10 games and a bowl game in his 3rd season, already won the conference, is undefeated in 2015 ... Is on a 14 game winning streak AT Memphis.

Serious question: If Ohio State was left out of the playoffs last year, and beat Ole Miss in a bowl game, would Herman still be getting the same love? Or is it because he has the national championship ring?

And before anyone goes to the extreme ... I'm not anti-Herman. I just don't get how so many people overlook what Fuente has done. It's the equivalent of what Briles has done at Baylor ... Who was an awful program before he got there. Same thing is happening at Memphis.

If we don't hire Fuente, it will be interesting to see the revisionist history.

It will be like every time I read about someone claiming they wanted Mark Dantonio before Michigan State got him. I've posted this before ... But look at Dantonio's tenure at Cincinnati. Nothing in his record suggested he would be this good.

Fuente actually has selling points that suggest he will do really well at the Power 5 level. He can actually coach!

And because he can coach, he can hire recruiters. Win, and recruits will come. Win in impressive fashion, and they will be lining up!

Herman has the 126th out of 128 schedule. GTFO here with sub conference coaches.

How will a Herman hire affect Kaaya? It is important that we must be equally faithful to Kaaya, and not make a hire that contradicts his style of play.

Fuente is doing a amazing job at Memphis. The top 3 Memphis pass catchers are all walk ons. Can't wait to see them go head to head with Houston.

I continually get blown away by the Strong obsession.

In his 2nd year at UT his units are:

Offense: 108th
Defense: 102nd
