CMU is awful. They squeaked by an unranked FCS team at home last week while scoring 13 points. This is the perfect opportunity 'get-right' game for a team that is considerably banged up on both sides of the ball and there are a number of things I'd like to see:

1. Give Mensah and the offense a half to get back in rhythm, then sit them. This game shouldn't be close, and given our injuries in the RB room, I want to see a heavy dose of Javian Mallory and Jordan Lyle in the second half.
2. Speaking of Lyle, if the staff doesn't unleash him against a bad G5 team, what are we doing here? Marty Brown is going to be out of the year and Fletcher is banged up. Pringle got buried on the depth chart for a reason and all we heard all offseason was that Lyle was primed for a huge season. Perfect opportunity for him ahead of going to Clemson.
3. More Cooper Barkate and Josh Moore, less Elijah Lofton. It's not registering for me how a 1k+ yard receiver (not to mention our QB's bestie) is not getting a similar number of targets as Mali is. Further, Moore is purportedly our #3 receiver but only has 7 catches so far this year, yet 2 have gone for TD's. He's 6'4, 215 and barely gets targeted, but when he does, he produces. Lofton is solid complimentary piece, but I don't understand why the offense was run through him at times in the second half last night.
4. Open the IOL back up. I get it, you probably aren't benching 65 mid-game - It's hard to come back from that and he's still a young player who's playing out of position. The film will tell a different story. This week is the perfect opportunity to give Cantwell and Congdon reps at both guard spots.
