Here Comes The Slurp Crew In 10, 9…

There is no way we fire Manny if we win out. Coastal or not. No freaking way. We might force him to hire a DC, but we won't fire him.

Well the insiders on the board seem to think otherwise. If UM wins the coastal but loses the acc championship game, you may be right. If UM wins out and doesn't win the coastal, he's finished. At the very least, Blake James gets fired. I'll leave it up to the new AD to decide what to do next.

So, beating the team that won the Coastal, and losing two ACC games against decent teams that we could have won gets him fired? I don't think so. It'll take more than that to get him fired. A bad loss to FSU, losing another game that we should win, etc. Winning out? Man I just don't see it happening.

Are you leading this suck off or complaining about a suck off that hasn’t actually happened yet. because I don’t know which one is more pathetic and I want to be very sure about it.
Why are you interpreting he’s rooting for loses?

I wasn’t rooting for a loss. Went to the game & cheered the whole time. In my interpretation, he’s alluding to those that will defend & give Manny credit for a hard fought, mostly well coached win as nothing could be further from the truth.

The “if he wins out crew” despite how lucky & bad of a coRch he is and how a great QB is bailing his Defense out.
Exactly my point. Thank you for the sane post, brother. Happy for the kids, but Mandy’s gotta kick rocks.

If we were going to fire him, it would have been after the UNC game. Had we lost to NC State, I think he's gone. Winning that game, then Pitt, now today... No way we fire him for winning out if we didn't fire him after UNC.
Some believe that is what happened. We all saw that picture of Manny after the UNC game standing alone in an empty stadium.

It was rumored Manny Sr intervened through some BOT members to delay the firing until after season so his son could save face.

It's within realm of possibility he was done before the streak.

Of course the next AD could give him a reprieve but if the new AD knows anything about football, he can see the body of work compared to the team's talent has been underachieving.

We were one of the more experienced teams returning and projected by ESPN to go 11-1

You can bet money on a bowl game loss even if we win out the rest of the way and don't win the coastal. Miss the coastal and lose a bowl game and it's all over. At the end of the day, Diazs bad coaching will catch up to him.

Big difference in winning out and losing the bowl. Yeah, we could lose a bowl and he'll get fired. Or, we win the game and he gets an extension.

Believe me, I wanted him gone already. I just don't think they fire him if we are looking like a team improving.

It’s why I said playing in the coastal is a blessing and what is going to be a major fcking to this program.

A blessing because the teams we are playing suck so bad we can out talent them not only out talent their players but also overcome our band of village idiots that make up most of this staff and the in game decisions they make.

The fcking Is gonna come when because they are so ****** and we are able to beat them even with this band of Keystone Cops running things we are able to get wins which will tempt whomever will be in power when the time comes to make a decision on Nanny to possibly give him another year or at least the beginning of next year.

Blake needs to go first to get him away from ANY decision making whether it be regarding Manny or whomever but I’m just hoping all this doesn’t hinge on Mario saying yes or no and if he says no they just say fck it and leave it as is for another year.

Why would he get an extension? I think he has a 5 year contract. He is only on year 3. If he hasn't been fired already a new AD will not extend his contract. It will be a "show me" year next year, if anything.

Because, when was the last time we didn't extend an average coach? Winning out will make the administration all lathered up.

You mean Blake? You think he stays?
Man, I hope not. Please don't get me wrong, I think major changes need to be made. I think Blake is horrific. I think Manny isn't much better. I also know winning streaks at the end of seasons don't get head coaches fired.

If the next AD gives Diaz a 1 year reprieve to evaluate the situation he should immediately fire himself.

Are we looking like a team improving or have we won the last three games by a combined eight points with a future NFL QB (who we only started due to injury) playing lights out?

We lose all three of those games if we weren't at least a little better. We are not playing lights out, but we are winning.

It's all a matter of perspective I guess. One could also argue if the Canes hold onto the ball earlier today which GT turned into 14 points, the game is a yawner 34-14 Canes (no 2 point conversion attempt which became 2 points for GT). Those other 2 games were against ranked teams.

Do you also look at the 2 ACC losses as a missed easy kick by a freshman kicker and a tough loss on the road which featured an unlucky tip and interception at the end of the game? Both games being the first 2 Power 5 starts by a redshirt Freshman QB.

If they win out, it won't bother me too much if they bring Manny back on the condition that he hires a DC. This defense is too predictable. IMO, Manny blitzes entirely too much leaving too much open space for teams to exploit - especially if they cannot get to the QB immediately. The OL still cannot block enough to get a yard when it's really needed. I will give them props that their pass protection has vastly improved though.

My biggest concern is Blake James will still be AD in January. They need to get a new AD in place as soon as possible so the infrastructure to a successful athletic department can be constructed.

You look at the early ACC losses as coin flips that didn't go our way.

You can't be in single score games every week and expect to be a successful team.

It's coaching - and has been for the last 17 years.
