Herbstreit with another message...

facts, it’s not about just who can spend the most money. They obviously allocate their money wisely and r looking for people who r gonna buy in.

He's not wrong. Guys like Fletcher hold this team together.
True but Fletcher while not a 5 star was a top 10 back and top 150 player. We all know the game has changed with the portal but let’s not pretend an era didn’t end where we saw what was essentially a group of 5 or so teams horde said 5 stars and made the sport not only boring but almost unwatchable.

He is one of the few announcers that still has an abiding passion for college football. Most of the rest of them are just there because it's easy money and they think it's a springboard to something bigger and better. But Herbie still has the passion and fire for what separates the college game from the NFL.

Herbstreit is 100% right. I'm just way too petty to ever say something nice about him or give him credit for anything.

But football is the ultimate team sport. That's a big reason we all love it so dang much.

Say what you want about these college players getting paid above the table

I've seen nothing to indicate they're working less or competing less or caring less about winning.

Leave everything out there on the field like we did when we were kids playing on the street or in a pasture.

Do that and I imagine most fans will be just fine with the money part

Was Herbie getting a little choked up or is it my brain fog?

He's been very emotional since his dog died.

He takes a lot of crap on social media and elsewhere from nut-job fanatics and he's probably too thin-skinned to be equipped for that abuse.

Herbstreit "taking credit" (and he prolly deserves a tip of the cap) for Miami's administration finally getting off its sorry *** comes across as a guy looking for appreciation to balance out the vitriol he gets on a regular basis.

In other words, Herbie's a regular person like most of us
