Good stuff FL. In fact the total pic should be considered, instead of flashes that everyone is touting...they can be beat, and our D has a good a chance as any to get to Franks...One part of the analysis I disagree with Herbie on is regarding Franks. It's not saying much that he had a great last 3 out of 4 games last season. Two of those teams were Idaho (moving to D2 level ball) and FSU (need I say more) who were absolutely atrocious. Another game was against a South Carolina team that allowed more than 350 yards rushing (Franks didn't win that game for them) and a Michigan team that was without starters and mailed it in after losing to OSU.
Franks benefited last year from an OL with three NFL caliber starters, and two other starters that had major reps in their career. This new UF OL starts four new guys, of which one (their OC) has actual playing time. Not to mention, the majority of the guys are low 3-star recruits. I don't think he's going to be as consistent or good as people think.
We also have to remember that Franks was benched during the Mizzou beatdown and wasn't going to start the next week against South Carolina. Kyle Trask got injured in practice and that gave him an opening.

Thanks, I completely agree. I think our defense is going to have a great day on Saturday. That "elite" WR room isn't going to be able to do much if Franks is running for his life the whole game.Good stuff FL. Love that man.
Johnson said: “I love the University of Miami. I would do anything in the world to help the University of Miami and the people in the program. Very rarely do I go somewhere [to talk to people who want to meet with him]. Normally if they want to talk they come to the Keys. Anything I can do for miami, that’s what I’m going to do.”
But let the gator fans tell it there is some gap in talent..... lol
ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, who calls Saturday’s UM-UF game with Chris Fowler, said he needs to watch UM in a game to know whether this is a top 25-caliber team but believes there’s not a large disparity in talent between the Hurricanes and eighth-ranked Gators.
“The talent is comparable,” Herbstreit said in a phone conversation Wednesday. “We have a chance to have a competitive game. Both teams have concerns with unproven players. Florida has some depth issues; they’ve lost a lot of players. They have a lot of true freshmen in their two deep. There’s a ton of athletic ability and skill on both these rosters. Jarren Williams has to be a good decision-maker, good distributor to give Miami any chance at all.
I really wish he could have just stayed another 3, 4 seasons, he really had the ball rolling from a recruiting standpoint by 88 and 89. He was the original Saban in a lot of ways...
Schnelly had the Bear Bryant feel to him, too. Would have gladly taken a few more years of either.

Herbie is a ******* *****. He almost always says everything everyone wants to hear. You can tell he took it up the a** over and over again at Ohio Taint. The guy almost never has a negative following, and he does everything he can possibly do to be friends with everyone.Herbie pretty much nailed it. Defense is still going to be very good.
Williams must protect the ball and keep the chains moving. If we can somehow establish a run game, it will change the entire course of the game. Garntham blitzing may actually help Williams be decisive because blitzes leaves voids in the secondary.

I love JJ but Howard left him Bernie and Vinny. Imagine the QBs he could have recruited after Jim Kelly going first round and that first NC. JJ did really good getting Walsh but never had a trio like Howard did Kelly’s senior year. Then again, JJ brought the 4-3 defense and that made the team killers.

I'll say it again, get a copy of this years roster, look at it in 4/5 years and you'll that UM will have a ton of NFL guys on it. In fact, it will have more than most programs, save for Bama, Clemson, UGA and Ohio State, at this point...
You may be right, but those guys have to learn how to win
