Herald reporting that NC game is on

Man, I wish I was as confident as some here.

Canes are 3-4 against North Carolina in Chapel Hill since joining the ACC in 2004; those three wins by an combined 15 points.

Never scored more than 30 up there and never won by more than six—which happens to be the current point spread. Can't believe how many people I see talking about hanging 40+.

Not saying Miami can't win big; but history has proven otherwise over the years. I'm still scarred from 2004, as well as Butch just owning Randy for years—not to mention them hanging 59 on the Canes in 2015 and having to eke out a five-point win against a 1-5 squad in 2017 when UM was 6-0.

Will take a 1-point win up there if that's what it takes. Just win.
You forgot this TNM.

Would be shocked if this game is not called off by 4pm today. Tropical storm force winds now extend over 150 miles from the center. Willmington already this morning has Tornado watches.

Wilmington is on the coast. Chapel hill is 150+ miles northwest of that. If the storm continues on the projected track (which they’ve nailed so far, by the way) the game will be fine. UNC shouldn’t have practices impacted, Miami won’t have travel impacted, and by Saturday the game is well out to see hundreds of miles away. I’m sure they’re monitoring but as of now there’s no reason to change anything.

Sorry you need to be a little more informed and updated. And the aftermath of a storm is the concern here. Not where it will be Saturday night. The forecast now has Raleigh getting stronger winds than anticipated. This is going to cut about as close as possible because officials do not want the perception that they were caught off guard. The severe threat of this storm has ramped up as I said with tsf winds extending almost 150 miles.

Lmao ok Bryan Norcross. Raleigh has a 14% chance of getting sustained tropical storm force winds. 0% chance of seeing hurricane force winds. I’m as informed and updated as possible. The storm is not forecast to impact Raleigh much at all right now. It will not impact UNC at all. They are fully open and operational today. It will not impact Miami’s travel at all tomorrow. It will not impact Saturday at all. There will be no “aftermath” lmao. If it moves west, they’ll alter plans. No reason to yet. Let me guess, you live in Miami and had your shutters up for a week.

It’s has strengthened but no reason to cancel at this point. There may be a little damage on the coast but not enough that would warrant some statewide shutdown.

Game on Mr. Orangebowlmagic. Lived here all my life don't own shutters. Tracking storms is a hobby. Hope your right we shall see.

Wilmington native here. This game is getting played unless a dramatic shift in the forecast happens today and it turns west, but the storm just started it's northeast turn so we should be good.

Exactly. And you’re in Wilmington, which is going to get it far worse than Chapel Hill. They’re gonna get 1-2” of rain over the next 24 hours and 30 mph winds at most. Sounds apocalyptic to me.

We have to roll Saturday night, no excuses. Our roster is infinitely better than theirs, we can’t keep making these excuses. If we can’t beat these mediocre teams, and mediocre is putting it nicely, well this staff just isn’t it, and our program never recovers. We are better than them everywhere. Also I’m not talking a 24-14 type of win, we need to mud stomp by 3+ scores. If you say that isn’t realistic, well you are basically saying our staff if inadequate. We should boat rape every team in the coastal.

How can someone be so bad at a hobby of theirs?

Be sure to update us on the aftermath in Raleigh, ok bud?

Hahahahah I was thinking the same thing. I follow storms way too closely as well, I wouldn’t say it’s a hobby but I keep myself as informed as I possibly can via several different avenues. But I got mansplained about an aftermath to an area that has a 0% chance of hurricane force winds. If buddy’s other hobby is betting on sports I’d love to handicap his plays too.
