I love crootin', but I don't know **** about the croots cept what I read on here.

So, why does this board feel cook is so much better than Yearby. I don't get it.

Because he has more "flash" and because he didnt come here.

Cook is also a bit bigger, so the thought is he will translate better at the next level.

If Yearby had a little bit bigger frame, I think he would be as good if not better than Cook.

IMO Yearby is a better running back. The kid has elite vision and cuts. Something Cook does not have. Cook has that extra gear that lets him blow past people, but Yearby has that Duke like shiftiness. If he can recover well and keep his speed and even improve it a bit, and stay healthy, he's going to be as good as Duke IMO.

Kid would have broken the Miami Dade rushing record this year if he hadnt have gotten hurt. That says a lot about what kind of talent that kid is, considering the RB talent that has come out of So Fla.

The fact that Yearby is coming off of injury affects people's outlook as well. But the good news is that Yearby's injury is a broken bone and not a tear in a major ligament in the knee or something similar. Bone fractures tend to heal and become even stronger than before. The same cannot be said of knee injuries and the reconstruction surgery that follows.

Thankful he enrolled with us and stayed solid thru the process.
Kid is a beast and would be a major win for any program, and I for one can't wait to see him tearing it up along with Duke. Hate the fact we compare him with other recruits, but w.e can't control others opinions I guess....

Bigger, faster, stronger, playermaker?

I love Yearby but he reminds me of Freeman from FSU.

Cook reminds me of CJ Spiller.

Also Cook had a bigger impact on Central's success compared to Yearby. (for everyone that says Yearby was starter)

????? Yearby had more yards. And that's while missing the state title game.

Cook was a huge impact on defense, also. He's a really good cb...

Honestly from me watching both. I think Yearby is the sure target and will be good/great at the next level. Cook looks like he will either be hit or miss and be nothing or great at the next level and I think that potential excites people to want cook more than Yearby. I'm very happy with Yearby

Ohh really? May want to check which one had more yards the not only this year but the last two years. Cook is straight up the better prospect over Yearby, though both are studs. Yearby as stated is an unbelievable RB, fits the 'pure RB' cliche to a tee, his vision, cuts and crazy balance and footwork make him a monster. The problem is that he has average speed for a BCS RB plus is undersized. He has wiggle like Duke but make no mistake he doesnt have Duke's big play burst, no way no how. Also he is a way better inside runner than Duke. Now Cook doesnt have Yearby's elite vision or and cuts, but just because he isnt on the level with Yearby there, doesnt mean he is a slouch in those departments. Plus he has true home run speed and burst, all the while the size one would look for in an RB.

And almost did it sharing carries with cool! WOW!

Cook would be a solid 4* DB recruit. He plays on defense, he returns kicks, AND he had the same amount of carries this year as Yearby. (with a higher YPC) Also he has to be a decent leader considering he has/had guys like Lane, JC, and even Adoree' gravitate towards him and want to play with him on the next level.

I love Yearby but Cook is better. But they are both at a level of talent it is really nit picking to be ungrateful at landing one over the another. (and weak homerism to say the one you got is better without looking at facts)

Cook has better physical characteristics; size, speed, etc. but Yearby is the better instinctual runner. Better vision, feel, change of direction, all the qualities that make a great running back.

I also find it interesting that if Coach Coley was still at FSU the situation would be reversed.

cook really isn't that much bigger than yearby. i mean haven't you seen them standing next to each other? cook is like have an inch taller and they weigh the same. they are both on the smaller side and for that i say yearby is better. better vision, cuts, and agility which you need from a smaller back. i don't see cook breaking a bunch of tackles and running people over at the next level unless they get him on some serious steroids.

So Duke is basically both these guys in one. That explains how good he really is. Yearby was FSU's first choice and is actually more their type of back. We stole him so they had to steal UF's back. There is a lot of truth to the fact that people here just like to complain. If we got Cook, people would say we missed on Joe. If we got both, it would be Sony. If we got Fournette and Bo, it would be we missed on all the So Fl kids.

I believe it can now. It's not 1987 anymore. Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peterson, Willis Mcgahee, Frank Gore, just to name a few with torn ACL's plus some other ligamaments.
