My son plays @CoachMacho Western team this year. We’ve had QB struggles these past two years so I hope we put up a good showing
 
They should hit up other athletes at schools that are recruiting them. Hold a bake sale. Surely they can find 1k from their combined parents.

This is basic school kid stuff. Idon't think this is a news worthy post.

1. It might be once in a lifetime for some of the players.

2. It's summertime. Maybe they can't get people together for a fund-raiser when the game is (I believe) happening soon.

If you don't want to contribute, don't contribute. No need to trash the kids for trying to raise money for travel expenses. If you want to criticize someone, give me the hard time, I'm the one who provided the link.

Silly me, I thought Miami fans were good for a few hundred for our QB commit's team.

Oh, but Miami fans should be funding NIL to the tune of millions of dollars per year.

This is not just directed to you, it's just a bad look when Miami posters are whining about an appeal for a few hundred dollars.

Never underestimate the negative posts that the Mope Squad can generate on ANY subject...

We've got a chance to show some supportiveness to a recruit, and yet we have a handful of people complaining about this.

For the people who don't want to contribute, move on.

I'm just baffled by these cheapskate responses. Luke didn't ask Miami fans to help, I did.

What a kind and generous response from some people...
 
The program isn't trying to raise 1k. Luke Nickel, and probably every student, was tasked with trying to bring in 1k each.

1. The played at Western in Davie last year. That's a short lifespan for some of those guys.

2. The game is in 2 months, the coach announced the game Feb 5th per SI.

3. A few hundred for a team to play a road football game?! Call me when the school is destroyed by a hurricane and I'll contribute time/money.

I'm not chitting on Nickel, he's doing what he's told.

Good lord, you are pathetic.

If you want to be cheap and NOT contribute, that is your right. Be proud of yourself.

But don't keep showing up to a thread to nitpick over a high school team's fund-raising, particularly when I'm the one who linked Luke's fund-raiser.

But look at you, turning yourself into some sort of Google-master to **** on high school kids. As someone has already pointed out, it looks like EACH of these kids has to raise $1,100 EACH, and I'd be willing to bet the "once in a lifetime" language was something that they all had to include.

If you want to be a miserable prick, and only contribute $20 during a natural disaster, that is your privilege, but take it somewhere else.

Hopefully, other Miami fans can step in with some kindness and generosity to make up for your deficit of human compassion.
