Rodney Miller looks like he's trimmed down some, but he still looks awkward and not very strong.

This is the issue I have when fans say we should only recruit 3 star players and develop them. The problem with that philosophy is that most "3 star" players need to redshirt their first season to get stronger and add weight. Also, development takes a year or two before the skills show on the court. Most fans are not that patient as they want the team to win immediately.

Rodney should have taken his redshirt year as a freshman but he sat the bench as Miami only had 8 scholarship players that year. Too compound the issue, he did not play so it was like taking a redshirt year without retaining the year of eligibility. The staff completely mishandled this situation from the beginning.
 
Wasn't Rodney actually a 4 star HS player, at least in the view of some recruiting services? The Oak Hill connection putting him over the top.

ESPN and Rivals had Rodney as a 4 star recruit and 247 sports had him as a 3 star recruit. Nothing beats the eye test. IMO.
