A best player in college football award given out 2 months before the season ends isn't worth much conversation.

Best regular season player?

When it comes to Miami, yes, it does affect our players chances.
 
The Heisman favorite should be Mensah.

There hasn't been a QB this accurate historically in CFB over the last 30+ years.

The man is 4 games into the season & has 12 incompletions.

Most QB's have that many in a single game, let alone 4 total.

And it's not like he's doing dinking & dunking game manager Captain checkdown bullsh*t either, he's actually pushing the ball down the field & throwing against coverage looks with the Deep ball & rarely missing passes.

What Mensah has done thus far & will continue to do is unheard of.

And mind you, he's not standing behind an OL with a bunch of NFL players on it either.

that offense is in trouble when they play a legit defense that can atleast slowdown Smith. They don't even try and work others into the offense against bad defenses it's just spam 4 non stop. Look what happened in the Texas game Muschamp decided Smith wasn't going to just run free in the secondary anymore in the 2nd half and OSU offense didn't know how to function.

If he does it against Clemson then the media will be forced to get off their asses and give him his due.

Right now, they are coasting on the fact that Stanford and Wake are names the common football fan associates with horrible, inept football and so he hasn't "done it against a team with a pulse" to most idiots.

Anyone who knows ball knows that he has shredded every defense he's played in ways that would be impressive if there was no defense at all. If he does it in primetime on Saturday night then the momentum will start to build

Also it all comes down to Mensah vs the ND Secondary we go into South Bend undefeated and dunk all over their defense that should be all he needs to win it.

Smith is the default favorite, but Kamario Taylor has all the buzz and hype right now, and rightfully so. He will shoot up the boards.

Anyone who thinks Malachi has a remote chance of winning the Heisman is delusional. Not to say it’s not deserving, but it won’t happen.

He would have to have a game like Jeremiah just had against ND and maintain his current stats to even have a remote chance now, but the fact that he is up there being mentioned is a testament to how much work he has out I man. His presence on this team is monumental and we are all blessed to have him one more year!
