People thinking that we are going to have the number one offense in 2026 are setting themselves up for disappointment. Tactically, that’s not a goal for Cristobal, nor has it been his tendency.

Do I think we will be a supercharged offense with Mensah at the helm, along with our offensive weapons? I think so, absolutely.

Number 1 offense? Not likely.

His offense was 39th in scoring in 2023 with Van Dyke but that’s still solid.

Lashlee’s offense was 23rd in scoring in 2021 with Van Dyke.

Once Tyler **** the bed, Dawson couldn’t do anything to get him back on path. He’s also yet to develop a quarterback here.However, when given a plug and play quarterback, his offense has been very good to great. He did a good job of tailoring things to cover Beck’s shortcomings last year. I think we will be back to being more explosive with Mensah this year.

Hasn’t really had a good qb prospect to develop, nickel and abrams next year will give us a better judgement

Agree. Having the #1 offense is like having good looks, and those can be deceiving. I’d rather have a successful offense that does it’s part scoring and maintaining possession, without skrewing the defense.

Both men were coordinators for six years before being promoted. Gary Stevens went 6 years as OC, for Howard (1 year) and Jimmy the rest.

Current Seahawks ILB/DA coach Kirk Olivadotti’s father, Tom, was DC for three years under Howard. Tyson and Clay Helton’s father, Kim, was OC for 4 years under Howard.

Other standouts: Bill Miller, Rick Lantz, & Sonny Lubick 4 years as DC. Dave Wannstedt three years as DC.

It’s quite rare to even get to three years straight. Chud did that as OC. So did James Coley. Dorito got to five years.

Kinda hard to count Thomas Brown because Richt called the plays. Diaz had three years under Richt though.

Rich Olson got to three years under Dennis and came back for a fourth year under Coker. Bob Bratkowskiski went three years as OC under Dennis.

That’s true but this will be his fourth season as OC/QB coach. It’s his own fault he hasn’t recruited anyone.

I want a QB coach more than anything. If your OC isn't a true QB coach, you should have one. Most top ones are actual true on field coaches. I would eat the TE coach, divide his duties between the OL and WR coach to have one. I really like Viti though and that isn't happening. I would find a up and coming one as a analyst for a year or 2. Word is we have our new DB coach. I doubt he's here, yet.
We have to see what the OL looks like in Fall to know if we have a shot at the #1 offense. Right now, no chance.
