I like that UCF is trying to do something about SEC and their obvious bag men. Personally, I think that they are going about it the wrong way.

IF the SEC teams can pay upfront for top athletes to play for their Universities. Why can't we pay these athletes, after their playing days are over, to talk about their experiences with the bag man. I'm positive that $10,000 or more will get a lot of ex-athletes to talk. Not the ones that made it to the NFL, but highly touted ex-athletes that didn't end up getting paid in the league. The amount of money they receive for talking will be depend on their national ranking coming out of high school or amount of evidence given. Money will be paid after documenting their testimony under oath in front of a attorney. Once enough documentation has been gathered, the hired attorney will hand all the evidence over to the FBI & IRS.

Someone needs to set up a GoFundMe account to get this started. If the NCAA won't do anything about the SEC, then the fans will fix the problem for them.

What is it that UCF is doing about SEC bagmen? Also as much as I would love to see it exposed and stopped, by paying them they would lose public credibility unfortunately. SMU was exposed back in the day by a guy that got paid to come there but then got hurt and tossed to the side. He wasn't paid for his exposure of them he was just disgruntled and said ***** ya'll.

The problem is the SEC continues paying the players for the rest of their lives setting them up with bs jobs. They’ve got a good system in place. I couldn’t tell how many former Alabama player used car salesmen I’ve met.

College Football is broken. It’s become MLB to me. Same rich teams paying the most are in the Championship/Playoffs just about every year. Alabama is the Yankees. It’s pretty sad.

Words dont matter, need evidence. College football bag men and the foundations have been around forever, it’s a well oiled machine and they know how to cover their tracks.

It's tough to pay sources or leads in a situation that can turn criminal. From journalism standpoint, it goes directly against the SPJ code of ethics and everything you are taught about sources in journalism school. From a legal standpoint it will damage the infos credibility since they were paid for it. It's all a good start though.

I didn't read your post.
I just checked to see if you signed it as per usual "Signed, Peruche". I upped your rep just for that.

Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, and LSU will never be investigated for paying recruits. Those coaches were on the LSU staff when Saban was there. Mark Emmert was the Chancellor of LSU during that time. If Saban or any of those assistants get caught doing it now, it will be obvious they have been doing it for a long time, and that they did it while at LSU.

It would be cause for termination of Mark Emmert as president of the NCAA because if you have a lack of institutional control in your own school, how can you ensure institutional control for 120+ schools?

This indepth report was posted a few years ago on SBnation detailing how the bag men get around the system in the SEC. Pretty clever but also a product of the culture that exists in those schools’ areas. It even mentions why the Canes approach with Uncle Luke and Nevin was flawed. It’s a long read but definitely interesting and worth your time to see how the underground system operates. Until we are willing to invest that much in our program and finds people who aren’t interested in the limelight, we will be playing second fiddle to the Bamas and Clemsons...

I agree, I’ve wondered about some of these former 5 stars that clearly got paid but didn’t earn playing time or maybe had a bad relationship with the school/coach, that they hadn’t come out with details afterward.

The blowback for someone who talks would be huge, but pretty sure someone could be found who could get paid again. The key is there proof, beyond the allegation. Tunsil had text messages stolen and released.
