I just don’t understand the secretive injuries approach. We have absolutely no idea what’s wrong with half the players that are currently out. It’s baffling and frustrating.
A few players may be borderline today and will be reevaluated late in the week. No need or requirement to make all this public.

We aren’t Clemson. We don’t have that depth. These injuries are a huge deal to this team. We barely had the caliber players before the injuries. And the injuries came to some of our most talented players on the roster. Excuse? Maybe but feel like it’s a pretty obvious one
Clemson was beat up badly on offense last year and it affected them.

We can't substsin the type of injures we have on offense. Regardless of peoples disdain for Gattis his unit has been decimated with injuries, and that is 100% fact.

Some people on this forum have tried to make it sound like it's "easy" to be a S&C Coach. "Just lift heavy weight until you can't anymore then do it again tomorrow. Durr." It isn't.

At a macro level, you have to develop your players in a way that the head coach wants. ie: A basketball head coach may want his players bigger, stronger, and more physical in the paint, while another may want his players developed for speed. Jim Radcliffe at Oregon was famous for this under Chip Kelly who wanted his players to be faster and in better shape than anyone.

I'm not sure MC's relationship with Feld but they have been together for a while and I'm sure there is some dynamic of what Mario wants vs. what Feld advises.

So not only do you have to devise an entire off-season and in-season program, you are ultimately responsible for what goes on in the weightroom and on the field at a micro level: making sure all players get their reps at their correct percentages. Then you have all the nagging, aching injuries some players will be dealing with to make you question if you should adjust your programming altogether, or just deal with those specific players. And each of those players have their own nagging issues that can't be dealt with by just the Athletic Training staff.

I've been in the Hecht myself training 4 separate athletes with 4 separate individual training programs (rehabbing injuries) while also keeping an eye on the other 12 out on the field who are supposed to be running 800's. And that was just for soccer. He has help with his assistant coaches but it can be incredibly chaotic dealing with that many athletes and having them adhere to a program, especially when the head coach or other staff want answers on if someone is good to go or not.
Marshan, big fan of your training and rehab insight. That said, Professor, your avatar is not an easy one to work with. But it could be the bourbon. Also, you aren’t exactly the most handsome fella. Scared the shît outta my cats.

Can’t imagine Nelson getting drafted at all if he doesn’t play any more this season and leaves. Another in a long line of early jumpers who end up as UDFAs. Not enough quality tape on him, IMO.
Yep I agree

lmao, this is one of your better ones - I'll see if I can find an easier one for you to work with lol

@AlphaMarshan awesome stuff. I am a little versed in S&C...self taught, some basic certs, etc. If I could go back I def would have went into this field as I love it. But back in 1998-2002 it just wasnt huge and no one knew what it would become really.

The Sleep/Hydration/recovery piece is so huge. Coaching baseball at a smaller school that was extremely high academics my guys were studying when they werent practicing or at class. All hours of the night. Being in the northeast winters suck so we had to practice inside. So usually that meant 6am practices. After probably studying until 1-2 am. I hated it but its all we had most days. I was full time but had 2 stipend assistants who had other jobs so when in the weight room I helped with what i knew but It was tough to even monitor 8-10 guys at a time.

But like you said, girl problems, or for us bombing a test or a huge test coming up. Then after they lift we even have a true nutritiontable so they probably went back to their room and ate a pop tart and washed it down with a bang energy drink. The worst part was our school was basically like an Ivy League Medical school so these kids were learning about their bodies...and after they graduated or were in grad school and out of baseball most become obsessed with staying healthy and working out.

There is so much more that goes into all this then most people realize as Marsh has stated. **** the assessing of athletes movements and deficiencies can change almost weekly if not monitored. Most of these kids who are 17-18 years old and Fr/So have had zero proper training, nutrition, etc. Most barely get hit hard in high school. Knock on wood but I think Feld is the least of our concerns

Somebody wanna PM me if Arroyo has a torn ACL or not, please?

I don’t wanna have to go to Mar-a-Lago and search through the classified documents if I can avoid it.

Nelson out of all of them is likely the most important along with TS2. We have to be able to get our best players on the field or this season is like your avitar.

Nelson looks out. Knighton sounds doubtful as of now. TS 50/50 but i wouldn’t expect a lot of snaps if he goes.
ZN is up to questionable ( practicing). Parrish probable and Knighton will try to go. I mentioned TS was a go yesterday.
