He was brought in as essentially a data analyst and is presumably tracking all kinds of metrics, yeah.
Overtraining is quantifiable and we have protocols to test for and measure it. You'd be surprised how many people are overtrained without even realizing it. I think Feld's educational background should lead him to being fine in this regard but we don't know. Many of the "top" strength coaches you've heard of have zero understanding of what overtraining is or how it works and live in the 70's.
Maybe. Maybe not. There are so many variables at play it's difficult to know - we need more data but so far it's not looking good. Could just be that we're unlucky or it could be that training protocols are whack.
I get what you're saying, and not trying to pick on you here, but just wanted to remind everyone that these are college kids. We always worry and care about when athletes are hurt.
