Head coach candidates

Freeze is the guy. Which means we 100% won’t consider it. Big 12 is on its death bed. Patterson or Campbell could be ready to move on. Lane does feel like he was made to coach the U. I wouldn’t hate Mario because I know he can recruit. We could have options. But we have a dumpster fire of an admin so it doesn’t matter

We need someone who is an experienced disciplinarian type. A guy who will instill standards for performance and looks to win not simply just compete like Manny does. Lots of good candidates out there, it all starts with a new AD or a guy like Zo Highsmith overseeing the program with full autonomy. But for funs sake:
1. Jeff Hafley
2. Billy Napier
3. Hugh Freeze
4. Luke Fickell
5. Bill Clark
6. Kyle Whittingham
7. Lane Kiffin
8. Mark Stoops
Any of these guys could be good fits with the proper upper brass leadership & financial investment from the university.

1-5 gets us into the ACCCG every year.

Bama is well-oiled professionally run organization. That’s what Miami needs, although it would will be on a smaller scale.
In order to have that, we have to treat the disease properly and get rid of the vermin that has made our program sick for almost 20 years.

I'm on the Alonzo Highsmith hype train.

I don’t want a new HC until our AD is gone
Honestly, this is the most true statement on this thread.

Blake James hired Golden (failure), Mark Richt (burned out, good guy, but failure), and Manny Diaz (went to Temple, overpaid to get him back, and so far, failure).

Mark Richt gave the money back, which he did not have to do. And that gift was basically ****ed away.

Blake James has not improved the program in any way, shape or form.

*I* could've done a better job, and my people skills as a trucker, while perhaps colorful, are not exactly polished or skilled.

Hmmm. Not sold. I‘m skeptical of hiring former players as it smells of some attempt to recreate the past. Could work, but Zo has nothing in his background other than being a former Cane. Yes, he was in some NFL front offices but the Browns cleaned house and then started winning. Add Winston Moss to this list. He so good, yet unemployed.

USCw had the same issue, kept hiring former Trojans as AD. Failed. They hit lightning-in-a-bottle with Carroll as HC, but he was destined to leave for the NFL if he was successful. Haven’t done much since. Lynn Swann was a disaster. They’re new AD is the first non-Trojan in generations. He’s had one season and stuck with a staff with huge collective buyouts. Let’s see what happens at USC. But F-USCw, who cares?

Dan Morgan would be interesting since he is a climber in the NFL executive offices, now assistant GM at Carolina. He‘s on his way to being an NFL GM, doubt he’d have any interest in being a college AD.

I see what you mean. 👍🏿
I have to agree as well.
Besides Dan (I want him in Philly to replace that used car salesman Howie Roseman), who would you want as AD/Asst. AD?

I don’t know who better ADs are. I’d want someone who has run a top athletic program, or grown their career under such people.
