Hayes Fawcett story about Jeremiah Smith

Maybe, but why take the chance of having to catch passes from Emory Williams for 2 years?

I don’t subscribe to the idea that it doesn’t matter where a player goes, the nfl will see the talent. Anyone making a good business decision will go where chances are best (based on track record).
There was never a universe where Emory is starting here for 2 years.
But yeah our qb situation needed to look better.
Again, falls on the coach.
He's known about J smith since he got here and likely before.
Mario could’ve gone after Sayian but didn’t. But again it’s a dude that hasn’t taken one snap at p4 level.
Osu has been lucky at the position. They portaled out ewers and burrow and had stroud.
And even with their recruiting success they still depended on the portal for this years qb.
Riley was lucky with a qb until he wasn’t and now we may get his leftovers.
Everything is a risk and every receiver that osu has recruited didn’t become a first rounder.
Fleming looked all world out of high school. Believe he was number one. Where is he now? Innis is returning punts and people talked about him like he was gonna sit every one down in Columbus.
You offer the money you get a qb and he would be ours.
Maybe if Ward didn’t declare J smith is a cane? That would’ve been a **** of an insurance policy. And maybe he’s the dude that attracts a qb.
Instead we got an injured lsu kid and J smith’s Robin in JoJo.
I’ve defended Mario a lot. But come on man this is what he was brought in for. This is what he said he was supposed to stop from happening. Those were his words.

It was a complete recruiting failure and one of the biggest in local recruiting history. Fck no he’s not getting a pass by me. And if indeed it was a money issue I’m sending highlights of J smith every hour in the hour to every Miami nil collective or booster if im Mario with the phrase “I fckng told you so”!!

Smith is going to be the new Dalvin Cook when people talk about players we missed when comes to recruiting.
Losing Smith sucks and is only going to feel worse in the future but Dalvin went to our #1 rival and was personally responsible for 3 victories against us on top of getting FSU a natty. He will forever be #1

It wasn't a money issue.

Smith signed a deal with Adidas.

10,000 page thread coming claiming he's transferring to Miami next year.
Must be some crazy up front money to sign this early, probably could have had a bidding war up until his draft

Is adidas really this stupid?!!

The only way I see this as smart is if they're planning to take over these team’s contracts. But Nike and osu are locked in till 2033

This is huge leverage for nil with the player if the contracts aren’t worded right.

Adidas could up the money for his final season if he goes to an adidas school and thus forcing his nil at osu to be increased.

Also, imagine adidas being so stupid to only sign these kids for their college playing time. They risk having non of them sign as an adidas athletes if they turn pro.

You really think there isnt right of first refusal in the contract?

As a person of extremely poor contractual term comprehension; please explain who would be holding the right to refuse. If it’s the school or collective; then why would an agent or a lawyer representing the player agree to someone having that authority.

I don't really understand your question.

The topic was why would Adidas sign him now when he's currently at a Nike school and he can only wear Adidas outside of the official Ohio State activities (must wear Nike).

The reason would be that Adidas likely has the right of first refusal to match any offer to sign him after college.

Or he is transf………..

Did I do that right?😂

Insane the shift that could’ve happened if he’d picked Miami. Gonna have to get one of these guys some day.
