Another wonderful thing about having these youngsters at practice is that it may give many the only opportunity to have in-person experience.
Let's be honest, tickets, concessions and parking are not getting cheaper and many families of modest means may not have time or money to attend games.
I remember the old days where I would see families using public transportation to get to the old Orange Bowl (RIP) and as a kid my first experience attending a UM game was in 1979 when Burger King was giving away free tickets.
This is an opportunity for local kids to connect with one of their own, up close and personal, and we
need this to keep grassroots support and to help stem this belief that it is cooler to leave town over representing our local team (aka, "the good guys").
