Maybe the issue we're overlooking here is Mack got **** Brown. People are going IN on all these Texas assistants under him about to get coaching jobs here, but no one is pointing at him. ESPECIALLY after spending the better part of two seasons coming at Al Golden's head. The turnaround from 1 coaching move salvaged a season that was probably set up for the worst in University of Miami HISTORY. Sometimes a toxic situation amongst coaches, behind door beefs, bad leadership can affect the way you direct your personnel.

Just food for thought.

I think it's pretty simple.

When Diaz got to do things his way with elite talent he produced a Top 11 defense.

When he either didn't have elite talent or didn't get to fully do things his way, the results were mediocre.
