Have thing changed? Say it IS so!! (some thoughts on the NCSt victory)

But we still took WAY too long to get going, look one-dimensional in the red zone and lack true big play potential in the passing game. We just don't have a guy who can take the top off a defense and you can tell Beck would LOVE someone like that on the roster.
We had two possessions in the first quarter. The first ended with a field goal and the second ended when Brown fumbled. The fumble came on a drive where we had already picked up a couple first downs so it’s not like we spent the first quarter going three and out like the Syracuse game. I guess you can say we should have gotten a touchdown on the first drive and Brown shouldn’t have fumbled but neither of those is a symptom of the offense taking “way too long to get going”.

Even McShay is talking about Bain not getting home.

This might be an oversimplified take, but I think Bain is so dominant off the edge that the QB always accounts for him, so they either get the ball out quick, or move away from Bain, which leaves them susceptible to mesidor or other getting home.

Bain makes offensive coordinators have to change everything they want to do. For the most part, opposing teams have to play left handed. I don’t care what the number is in his sack column.
I haven’t seen opponents have to specifically game plan against a defensive lineman like they do for Bain in a very long time. Any pass play where he isn’t doubled is specifically designed to get him upfield and then slipping a screen or short pass behind him. He plays the run, the QB run, the misdirection plays, everything at an elite level. If I have one nitpick it’s that we don’t move him around more. Slide him inside occasionally on third and long. Make the offense have to adjust on the fly. If he’s always rushing from the same position it’s a assert to game plan for.

Coaches definitely hear the noise. Credit to MC and staff to swallow their pride and change things up. This is why we ***** and moan after every average performance. We always knew we had this potential

TWO MORE
this.

bully them into submission at this point. the coaching adjustment was needed and instant results.

You see how the running game was evolved with Pringle and pulling our athletic OL? Francis and Pancake looked great leading the way. I remember in camp Pete/D$ talked about Pringle being a change of pace because he’s smaller behind that big OL.
he looked like a starter to me. easily our best back and that includes with a healthy fletcher.

Very impressive play from the DBs. Even without the All American Scott.

The more we run the "trick" plays, the more it becomes a consideration for defenses to defend. Im fine with it.

Pringle runs so well. Its funny that as soon as the reporters press Dawson on the inside runs, he starts calling noticeably more outside runs and counters. And they work very well. They all go for 8 to 10 yards.

Still aren't good at blitzing and finishing.

So often our guys are close enough to hear the QB whisper, but for whatever reason, can't seem to grab him.

Still no juice from the TEs. There's just no athleticism or spark. Good on Lofton to get a TD tho.

Refs continue to **** with Miami. First half was fine. Its like they were trying to prevent a blowout.

That head ref is an 1diot..
I bet the ACC cabal sent out the memo not to ***** us with penalties... but the f00l couldn't help himself

Our defense has been really good all year. Heatherman was a great hire. Dawson needs to be replaced. Mario needs to get his mits off the offense. I think we are wasting a lot of talent the way we operate on O. Beck is average. We need another legit QB
Beck was 22/27 for 291yards and 3 TD's and no INT's.

Go back to bed.

I was happy to see us score in the first quarter for a change...
I think this was the first time in awhile we didn’t stop ourselves with penalties.

Back in the day we would practice the plays we would run say 12 plays to also cut down on mistakes we practice snap counts for each with FAKE check offs chatter but snap count stays the same as practiced.

Maybe we did this yesterday, FG was good but we should have got 7 .

GT defense is abysmal right now
1-10 BC scored 34 and put up 537 yards against them. Even got to the GT 45 yard line for a Hail Mary attempt after getting the ball back at the 25 with about :15 at the end of the game. GT defense is terrible. Fully expect Pitt to score at will on them.

He had 7 carries for 45 yards on 6.4 yards a carry with a long on 19.

GTFOH.......
lol and Jordan Lyle had 6 carries for a 104 yds against USF last year, 17.3ypc. Funny u think his stats mean anything last game. I’m not basing my opinion off of 1 game, I factor in everything and he’s mid.

Bet u thought Lyle was gonna be better.

His stats mean he got limited carries and did pretty well with them. LOL

Oh and you factor in everything. So were you asleep when he was one of the stars of spring 2 years in a row. You sound like you're hating on a kid who hasn't really gotten a shot.

I think its a byproduct of his build.

He's too big to be a rush end but too small be a tackle.

I think hes maxing out his athleticism trying to beat the offensive tackle just to get into the backfield so he ends up off balance once hes actually there.

Doesn’t mean **** in the grand scheme of things.

Lol at “start of spring”, he wasn’t no ******* star 😂😂😂.

I’ve done my scouting and that’s the opinion I’ve had since we recruited him and he hasn’t done anything to change my mind. He can be a solid depth piece, but he’s not a difference maker. If u call that hating so bet it, but it’s not. It’s called scouting and forming an opinion.
