Hate to bring bad news after a win. But D'Onfrio is staying

I'd be willing to bet Miamis opponents are at the bottom half in possessions a game. The yards may look low because so much time is used methodically marching down field. Could be wrong but my eyes just don't see a top 15 defense. The stats are deceiving us some way or another

When you have more talent then every team you played this season you should be ranked that high and we're only ranked that high bc of Ark state, Famu, cincy and Va Tech teams with no pulse, these type of game you pad stats bc those teams are horrible. Every team with a pulse on offense shreds us. When we show up against teams with a pulse let me know!

I wish our fans would decide whether the stats mean anything, or they don't. First our yardage given up is crappy and D'Onofrio say "yardage is not everything". He gets clowned to death for saying that. At that point you use the stats to support your position.

This year our yardage given up is pretty good. Now you say the stats don't matter. Do you guys even notice that you change sides of the argument from day to day?

I'm not defending Golden or D'Onofrio. But, try to be a little more rational in your criticism. There are plenty of things to complain about, but it's getting beyond nutty here.

Miami currently has the 15th rank defense in the nation. per CFBstats.com

With our schedule he could finish top 10

So where is the news you're reporting? You're concluding that he is not going anywhere based on the "perception" of the improvements in numbers and standing of the defense. Seeing the title of the thread one would think you're reporting information from an inside source.
Thank you for the analysis.

When were unhappy as fans we'll find any excuse to complain. The complaining is more indicative of the stats 27-18(15-13) and 5-3(2-2) than anything else. I've been an ardent anti-goldenist for 3 years, but win out and beat FSU and I'm more likely to spin stats in his favor rather than against him.

No matter what our record is or will be, the fact is we should be playing much better.
Don't be fooled by numbers. Believe your eyes.

Just about everybody that has posted this year knows something is wrong. You don't have to be a football genius to see it.

We only beat teams that have lesser talent. Teams with equal or better talent are killing us. That is on the coaching.
VT was an injury depleted team that couldn't match up with us and we had some lucky breaks. They also couldn't complete a pass until the end of the 4th quarter so they were one dimensional as well.

We don't play good team football.

The FSU rivalry might raise our individual talent level to make that game close, we will see. I am looking forward to the next two games.

GO CANES!!!!

The numbers really don't matter when things like time of possession come into play.

I can't remember who said it, but a poster here nailed it a few weeks ago when they said something along the lines of "If this were cricket, Georgia Tech would still be driving down the field."

Here we are 3 weeks later and I bet our defense would still be out there.

Exactly. I'm not happy with our D either. I'd love to see D'Onofrio "decide to pursue other opportunities." But it's gotten to where people with twist turn, and completely flip flop on their arguments any way possible to turn it against the staff. They'll say the exact same stats mean one thing to use it against the staff, and then the complete opposite to also use it against the staff. There's a lot of real problems. Acting like nuts with an agenda isn't necessary or sensible.

The stat I care about is wins and losses. That's why I've never been about scapegoating assistants. In that wins and losses stat, Folden has been a colossal failure.

I think a lot of these fans are ok with be mediocre, its fcking crazy how they think. The guy doesn't load the box vs teams who doesn't nothing but run, we make changes way to late. We deserve better and this mediocre crap makes me sick to my stomach

I got some stats that mean something:

1. 15-13 in the ACC

2. 0-3 against FSU

3. 0 Coastal Championships

the GT, UL, and Nebraska games were an abortion. I expect a couple more of those still this year. it is insanity if we keep these ********

But I read we did well against those teams...hmmmm

Let's review:

1. We allowed 33.3 PPG (average),

2. We allowed 263 Rushing YPG (average), and

3. We lost every game
