To me, it certainly feels like this is what happened and UM no longer has the ability to outbid others. And If I am correct, then it certainly would mean that UM has peaked, or will peak this season, but does not have a sustainable model.

I would love for our insiders to be honest with the rest of us as to why UM seemingly does not have the financial ability to compete at the very highest level (top 5).

I love UM football, but if we are a second tier football program then let’s be honest about it. Let’s be Louisville, or Maryland, and embrace who we are. Or better yet, let’s be Duke and stop squandering our limited resources on football and focus on basketball and baseball wehre those funds could be moire effective. What I am tired of being is a program that acts like it should be in the top 5, but can’t spend as needed to be in the top 5. We will become, if we are not already, the last ones to know that the joke is on us.

I'm pretty sure we've been 2nd tier for over 20 years now.

Well....the caliber of the players we have committed so far would suggest otherwise.
I have no clue what is actually going on but it would seem really strange time for it to happen...in the middle of what was shaping up to be a really good class. I'm not sure money is the issue.

The problem is that we DO have the money and we’re still in this position.

But you know what they say—it was never a sprint…

All we heard from the braintrust was we were the leader or favorite for all these kids. Now, not so much. I get we haven't been good for 20+ years, but we were all sold on all these kids being leans to the good guys, and now it seems were out on just about all of them. Just crazy to me.

No! Mario is deep sea fishing. He got the right bait, but unfortunately he using freshwater equipment. You ever see what a big *** saltwater fish will do to a freshwater hook, rod, and reel? Break all that **** and Straighten that hook out like an arrow, lol. What i mean is that we got the money…. we gotta show something on the field. Some of dese schools we are up against got both. We’re basically asking kids to “give us a chance”, when other schools got tangible proof that they can win big AND get kids to the next level. When you fishing against the big boys, you gotta have the right bait, and the right equipment. We getting there. We will land some good players, but we gotta show more if we gonna waltz into SEC territory and walk out with prized recruits.

Many of the blue blood programs have been spending big for years. UM is its infancy compared to the big spenders and more than likely still not in the same league. Add in the lure of the SEC, us being mediocre for the last 20 years and it’s a recipe for what we’re seeing in recruiting.

🤣 holy **** this board has gone full melt down because we are not out recruiting the best teams in football lol .
Pretty impressive we are even in top 10 of how *** we have been past decade

It's nothing but an echo chamber of misery in here. Looking forward to Notre Dame when Hard Rock will be so loud I'll need to bring ear plugs. We'll forget the recruiting lows instantaneously if we can beat the Irish.
