Hartley getting a little defensive on Twitter

Im sorry but the guy didn't come off as smug to me. The staff lives on Twitter and thought it was perfect time to pop off cuz we beat VT. Impressed with Jeff Thomas, nothing else. Special teams has been bad. Hartley needs to calm his *** down. Don't know where he from but if u have thin skin, either fix what's wrong or u aint gonna last much longer.

When is the last time we had a kick off returned for a TD? Blocked kicks, penalties, bad punting, and did I mention penalties? ST are a total **** show. Hartley sucks at that aspect of his job . Bottom line, if Rick wants to be competitive for a playoff spot, Hartley should not be the ST coach next year.

So now it's talent that's the issue? Really? These guys on special teams have no idea what they're doing and are not executing. That's not talent, that's coaching and development. And more often than not, most teams in the nation play 1st and 2nd year players on special teams. So why are we using experience as an excuse for special teams play?

Also, Deejay Dallas and Jeff Thomas are our returners. Last week they BOTH have inexplicable fumbles which occurred on special teams. Are they not experienced enough? Do we need a senior laden special teams unit to be successful? Also, this is not the only year that our special teams have been bad under Hartley.

Our Punt return defense is abysmal ranked 115th, our Kick off return defense is also abysmal ranked at 107th, Individually Baxa ranks 201st in kickers in the FBS @ 66%. But Jeff Thomas ( which is one of the most explosive guys in college football ) ran 1 TD back Hooray.

I see nothing wrong here. Mans asked a question and Mans got a direct answer from the best source. LoL. Isn't that want he wanted? We ask these reporters to forward questions to the staff all the time. Don't be a softy when he lets you know whats goody my guy.

Dont have an issue with the comment. Returns are alright. Its kicking that's been an abomination.

This team needs to adopt Clemsons self imposed social media ban during seasons.
 
I don’t have a problem with Hartley hitting back on Twitter because it shows passion and emotion. However I do have a problem with Rick continuing to allow Hartley to destroy the special teams on a yearly basis. Make him recruiting coordinator I really don’t care but I don’t want him near our ST unit for the rest of his natural life.

Miami is a legit punter, punting team protection, punting coverage team/scheme, and kickoff coverage team/scheme away from being good all around on special teams.
 
I really dont give a s*** about getting his feelings hurt the thruth is that ST sucks, next year we are going to have two punters on scholarships because JF sucks and our kicker is not constant either. To top things up our genius head coach said that he was going to start practicing them both under pressure. Maybe I’m missing something but isn’t that what they should have been doing in the first place

They should. They lost to some garbage teams with asinine personnel decisions.

If we decided we'd roll with Perry and take our chances, we could buy the whole building the future thing.

Instead we saw them shuffle Malik and Perry, leave ND at T too long, inexplicably play Mahoney and Jones, and there seems to be no effort to accelerate anyone at C either despite Gauthier being the worst C I've see at UM including Jon Rochford and Xavier Shannon. And the Citadel has a better punter.

They literally manufactured losses. They should feel the heat. No part of what they did here is acceptable. The best test? Recruiting. This class is a disaster. You lost the best RB in the state to Urban and his about-to-fake-Ebola ***.

Top 3 in punt return because Berrios fair caught anything that wasn’t a total punt coverage bust. Total punt return numbers are average at best. Thomas On the other hand has been great.
