Yes but the OL will improve steadily as the year goes on. King will also improve as will the WR group. There is no denying however that this WR Corps is not very good right now. The CBs worry me the most. The LBs should improve and the DL will be elite by the end of the year. RBs are elite. This squad needs more time to gel.

Though, your takes are very unpopular on COS after a BIG WIN against UAB, I agree.!! With the exception that #2, needs to be moved up to #1. Our OL is so bad. It’s worse than last year. Good thing we have a mobile qb and three nfl backs or we would be complY f’d. How some don’t see it, I haven’t a clue.

Thats not a given, we will see after UL, but we have only acc games now, teams are gonna stack the box and crowd our wr, Just take away Brevin and our passing game is toast (listen to interviews these guys couldnt adjust to UAB).. Either you need a dominant Oline or a WR to lighten the box.. None of our WR scare anybody..

Those are fair points. I haven't given up on Wiggins but Pope is just not a UM caliber WR and Harley is Harley. We need to see what the young kids can do. Payton has promise and I want to see what Redding, Restrepo and Smith can do. All they can do is get better.

I also want to see our stub RBs utilized in the passing game as well as our depth at TE. Brevin Jordan is an AA caliber player and Mallory is All ACC caliber if they could get him the ball. What I would really like to see is Larry Hodges get some burn. We could use him at H-back. Point being get the talent on the field and utilize it.

Th QB also missed every long throw he made to open WR and an easy TD pass of what 10 yards? So yeah King is a huge improvement but he also has a lot of room to improve. He is nowhere near an NFL QB at this point
 
OL is a repeat from last year.
They were in our backfield almost every play... thank goodness for King's scrambling ability and experience.
The pocket collapsed when it mattered pretty much all game.

Understood that you want to put this out there after 1 game, but
how you can come with a 7-4 realistic expectation when you haven't seen our other 10 opponents?

No one can convince me that wasn't illegal procedure/motion, whatever, before their 2nd TD.

Special Teams were HUGE last night. New kicker hit all his kicks and also put all kickoffs in the end zone or deeper negating any possibility for a return. Hedley is a beast.
 
I get the critics, I do. Before I sell my U stock ill wait another game. We have to remember, no spring practices but 4, no spring games, and an off-season away from campus. I would like to think that we will get better as the season goes on. We aren’t the only team in this predicament. If the rest of the conference lights it up this weekend, so be it. But I believe the games will have sloppy elements to them just like ours did. With that said, we do need Couch or Williams to start over Ivey. He seems completely lost for a Junior player. OL did well in spurts, so the potential is there. King is in more run mode than sticking it out to pass downfield. I’m certain this piece will get better.
