I’ve tried to write this recap 10 times, but it’s so hard to find the right words, so here goes my best shot:

I was never on the Mario bandwagon. I was probably one of his most ardent critics while he was at Oregon. I said, countlessly, we could do better. With that said, you can’t turn on the man yet. I have no idea if he’ll get this fixed, but he deserves time to see this though. As much as this loss hurts us, I know it hurts him more. It’s time to see if that ends up mattering the next time we line up to play.

My main question for Gattis is, “where the **** are the screens?” Have we run a single screen to the RB all year? MTSU was blitzing like crazy all night and we never took advantage of it. I understand he was dealt a bad hand with these WRs, but that’s also HIS room. He needs to earn his paycheck and get the most that he can out of them. But overall, this offense is simply not a fit for our personnel. We had finally left the Dark Ages when we hired Lashlee, and now we’re back in them.

TVD has been horrible. It’s as simple as that. And I’m not sure what bothers me more: his poor play or demeanor. No fire, no passion, and no confidence. Gattis hasn’t done him any favors, but wow, he’s nowhere near the same player he was last year. Jake didn’t light the world on fire when he entered the game, but for the first time all night, I actually believed we could win with him at the helm. If our defense didn’t completely fall apart, I really think he would have led us to an ugly victory. There should be a competition in practice the next two weeks, but I’ll be honest: if Jake doesn’t get the nod, I’ll be disappointed. I have zero faith in TVD at this point.

The defense….woah. I don’t even know what to say. Our corners got cooked all night and we couldn’t get pressure up front. Tackling was an issue, too. I thought Steele and crew had a really bad day.

Okay, now that I vented, I want you all to trust me and walk away from the ledge. This was one of the worst Canes losses ever, but I’m hoping Mario uses this as a learning experience. His eyes should be wide open about the regression of TVD and how **** this offense has been. And I’m sure he recognizes the need to revamp this team in more ways than one. Just give him a chance.

The reality is…this is CFB. Sometimes, the results don’t add up. I just watched Kansas State beat OU on the road after scoring 10 points and losing to Tulane last week. We still have a lot to play for and we have to do whatever it takes to preserve this recruiting class. We have to try our best to support this team, as much as it pains you all. They need us in 2 weeks for UNC. Enjoy the off week and hang in there. Everyone on this board is not alone. I refuse to believe UM football can’t — at the very least — become competitive in the years to come with all the financial support being dumped into the program. Don’t take the easy way out and quit, like many of your peers. Much love!

Unfortunately, the only thing left Miami has to play for is varying degrees of humiliation.

Not how many games can they win, but rather how badly they will be beaten in losses.

I'll be there supporting this team till the casket drops. Today was a surprising loss but I was not surprised that this team has been bad. I expected to be about the same as last year and win about 7 or 8 games. This is a culture problem. An the culture has been rotten for years. I think Mario is the guy to change it but he needs to re-evaluate everything from top to bottom.

Me too, bro.

So much so…that I had to find another rope.
I’ve hung in there my entire life. I’m at the end of the rope here.

Every year. Every coaching change. Every head coaching change, it’s always the same song and dance. Fake *** hope and rah rah.

It’s time to realize we are fully immersed in a mid level team living off old glory and the same as the programs we make fun of
Nailed it. That Nebraska thread after they fired Frost, hits a little different now doesn’t it?

That's a good post man.

No quit here, but I'd be fine if Gattis were fired tomorrow.
Gattis is clearly a problem. You can see it from a mile way.

And while It’s not his fault when TVD misses a wide open receiver, someone drops a critical pass, or we fumble the ball, it’s all accentuated by how awkward we look on offense. Nothing is easy. We have to fight like crazy to pick up every first down. It shouldn’t be this difficult, especially when you see teams with less doing more.

UM has been destined to run the spread offense since it was created, but for some reason, we keep avoiding it like the plague. It’s the best system for the athletes we recruit and Mario should be able to see that by now. How he handles this going forward will be interesting.

Ehh, we’ll always have the potential to return to greatness due to our proximity to talent. But ya, it’s not going to be an easy climb back to the top.

I think it’s unrealistic to expect us to ever return to a place where we’re annihilating our competition week in and week out, but it’s not unrealistic to expect 9-11 win seasons every year depending on our roster turnover, coaching philosophy, and schedule.

Haven't seem one called yet....I don't think we have them in the playbook.

Year one of a new regime taking over a team that has been asss for a long while you are in for some rough games. I think year one hss beem rough is most places for the top coaches out there...HAVING SAID THAT...today was brutal and impossible to defend. It's clear that he better adjust offensively or it's not going to work out for him.

Where you really see the failure of Gattis is the poor execution, awful red zone plays and lack of any preparation.

Every failure was on TVD, Gattis or the WRs. Each seemed to take turns ensuring no play had too much success.

agree 100. gotta give the man time to flip this roster that has proven they can't get it done. and as far as Gattis goes. I think it will look alot different with Garcia at the helm. He is a solid QB regardless of system. TVD seems to be a system QB to me.

The red zone offense is abysmal and I simply can’t fathom our approach when we get inside the 10.
