yes tourism is just shot for this year. im saying as long as the parks do remain open even in its current state, its better than nothing as UO didnt shut down the theme parks just the seasonal event. if i were UO (i know some that work for UO corporate), id feature a food and wine equivalent in that time frame

All these attractions being closed is tearing our city apart. This city was built because of these attractions and we need them back open.

I guess you are just going to ignore the FACT that there are over 140,000 People DEAD, more than Sumter County where part of the Villages is. Now that I think about it, have it in the Villages. Lots of creepy crazies there for sure.

Yeah, you're right about that. I think that the parks will offer reduced prices for Florida residents, and then just try to make money off food/bev. And they'll probably do 18 month or 2-year passes.

It's just crazy.

man I live behind Universal and yea I can hear the people screaming from Volcano Bay lol, they for sure open. although I've heard it hasn't been busy, even with the limited capacity.

There open in extremely limited capacity. My friends have been and they say its a complete ghost town which they are loving.

i know theyre limited for good reason. to UO credit, its as good safety wise as youre gonna be for a theme park during covid

lines have been meh. you can check on the app for wait times. for their busy rides, they do a virtual line where you just reserve a time to come back (hagrid has this). the water park is a cess pool in general though

Maybe they should make them put a cap on the people they let in permanently. Disney used to have one and it was decent. I went right before Covid and it was out of control the amount of people they let in. Staff member said they let in as many people as they can now

right now its 3 months free for new UO APs. i got mine right before the shut down and though i get the credit back for the shut downs, it doesnt mean im more likely to go back the rest of the year. it is what it is

I have a friend that plans/sells conventions for Marriott. Some time ago I went to a Qlik convention at the Gaylord. They had the entire conference center and meals were provided. I notice there were signs that X company had sponsored lunch for that day and asked her how much something like that costs. She said if they had the entire convention center, lunch could be over a million. That's one day at one hotel. For lunch.

If they were that worried about 140,000 we should make cars illegal. We would have banned smoking decades ago.

They should have took all those trillions they gave out and they should have used it to protect the old and weak. Thats who should have stayed at home. Let the stronger people get it and move on after.

and what about those that live with people at risk? we also dont know the impacts on our long term health even amongst those healthy but were symptomatic yet. lots of unknowns to play mr hindsight

Yeah, the Gaylord Palms has some nice restaurants. I love that steakhouse, Old Hickory (I think that's the name).

They gotta get rid of the $25 parking fee though.
