Guys who go undrafted?

Will the NFL CBA allow this? Does it even mention this? I’m sure the NFL would hate to lose cheap labor back to the universities.
Idk, but it’d only delay a prospect’s journey by a year so it’s not as big of a problem

Each year the NFL is flooded with NFL ready kids who declare to early who can’t make it in CFB and figure the NFL will be easier and receive bling contracts.
These children leave years of CFB and college behind

The NFL has to send them back to there parents to raise again do tough on parents when that call or knock on the door comes.

Poor parents and grandparents trying to enjoy golden years and there child comes back to eat and sleep, sad stuff

The rule is that once you declare your eligibility is done. But that rule was in place because agents were giving advances to players thereby ending their "amateur" status. But in the NIL era that's irrelevant. It's another mess coming no one seems in a hurry to address.

And yes there are plenty of UDFAs that would command big $$ in college.
I wonder how much the NCAA collects to do absolutely nothing

🙌, what do they regulate, they gave it away compromised themselves to HS KIDS and there agents lololol agents would’ve you ever dreamed HS KIDS with agents.

CFP run everything and soon they’ll lose control also remember they’re all politicians with there hands out and kissing HS KIDS there babies

Maybe they have some role in non-revenue sports like allowing dudes to participate in women’s sports.

There is simply too much money in cfb and a small group of people were getting rich and didn’t want to share. There’s the old saying “Pigs get Fat, Hogs Get Slaughtered”. NCAA literally had decades to figure out some kind of revenue sharing but they stuck with their “ amateur student athlete” excuse to the bitter end. They got what they deserved.

Was about to post this, it's not much different than baseball, if you don't like your slot just go to college
It’s a completely different world than baseball.
20 rounds vs 7 rounds.
This isn’t choosing college over the minors bc you’ll make the bigs in a similar amount of time either way. The NFL drafts guys who can play for them in 5 months. There is no pipeline of 3-5 team farm system of players to call up. There is no international signing period. They can’t just replace a guy who doesn’t sign.

What happens to players who go undrafted? Can they return to play college ball? Already happened in basketball. Would have to imagine some could get paid more to go back to college then be a UFA. If they have eligibility left.
If you hire an agent I think you're stuck. If not you may have options to return. Just a guess though.

I have no idea what the rules are anymore.

I've always thought the draft system is stupid anyway. It should be a free market. First-come, first-serve, highest bidder (or whatever agreement the parties reach).

I think the problem is that there are basically no rules anymore. The NCAA has lost complete control, and they don't want to deal with the agents/universities trying to sue them every 10 seconds. They are just sitting back and letting the disaster unfold

NCAA fighting Chambliss waiver tough

If they go undrafted I would say 9/10 times they are out of eligibility. So it won't be common.
