Guys we should target for the last LB spot.

Realistically? Andy Garcia - committed to MTSU

Uncommitted guys:
Morven Joseph - probably going to Tennessee and more DE, but he could stand up with his speed.
Jacorrei Turner - GA kid with speed

Grasping at straws here. It's so bad to be left in a situation like this again at LB, CB and OL after what happened in previous years with this staff.

Jacorrei Turner reminds me of former UM LB

UM needs to be on phone with this young man tonight. He is ray but has speed, ball skills , and doesn't shy away from contact. He will need a redshirt year to add 20lbs after which he could at worst be a special teams standout that is a solid rotational LB.

For those that are saying we are light at linebacker...I mean, we probably are...and our coaches stink, so this means nothing...but I think Keshawn Washington can be a really solid linebacker FWIW. I'm not seeing Striker/Safety like everyone else is. His best film is when he's doing linebacker things. With that said, he'll probably be nothing but a DB here and people will wonder why he doesn't turn out to be an effective player.

Similarly, people saying Harrell to striker? Looks like a true strong safety to me.

When you've got a position like striker on your team...you don't recruit future strikers, you just kind of find them on your roster. Light linebacker, bigger DB you just can't find a place for but can play...stuff like that. But you give guys a shot elsewhere - at a real position - first.
I don’t think he can ever reach playable weight at LB. He’s literally a twig...

What about Jamari Stewart? I really do like Jesus Machado. He's a die hard Cane and he has a high football IQ.. I get it he's not a physical freak but you always see these Scrappy guys go elsewhere and turn into 3 years starters averaging 120 Tackles every season. Terill Hanks from La Salle in Miami was one of these guy. Slow 40 times and not a physical freak but a hard worker and smart LB. He goes to New Mexico State and is 4 year starter and puts up 400 Tackles 43.5TFL 11 Sacks in 8 INTs and he plays for the Miami Dolphins now.

3 am at the truck stop bar and lounge.
Slim pickings.
Hoping to find someone with all her teeth and that hasn’t vomited on herself and is under 250.
It’s like parking spaces. The good ones are taking and the ones that are left are all handicapped.

Perfect analogy for this staff recruiting.
Idiot that for some inexplicable reason though he was taking home the hottest girl at the bar...only to realize she was just getting free drink from him and is now scrambling five minutes before they close.

A real program would get his weight up.

Also...its 2019...linebackers don't need to be 240-250lbs. If he can weasel his way to 220 he can play the spot. He won't do what Shaq does, getting dirty in the box, but he can cover and chase.

Telvin Smith played at like 210lbs at FSU. plenty of lbs across America play light by standard. It happens.

Diaz recruiting is so f*cking bad

Amari takes horrendous angles. He’s a big hitter but not a sure tackler.

I guess the positive would be that when he whiffs on a tackle at LB will have a safety behind him to clean it up.

Any time Diaz knocks linebackers, its the same critique...they aren't tackling. Its really all he cares about.

Time for the classic Miami shuffle, where we start offering kids we've never talked to before, get one or two of them on campus for an OV, and then make just enough headway to be the hat on the floor when they pick Nebraska or Minnesota or Tennessee or Airzona ******* State.

But hey look, Manny has only had four ******* years with this linebacker room, he'll get it turned around if we give him time. Did you know his dad was the mayor? He worked at ESPN!

If you ever saw Washington in person he is built like Sheddrick Redwine...no way he plays linebacker

He's like 175. And he isnt a real hitter. quite frankly he is a questionable take at db for us. Let alone the thought of as a linebacker.
If they have to get Machado then so be it..atleast he is a locl guy and may give his all and be a good depth guy for us

I know. it’s why I find it so bazaar that they play Carter so much.

Carter is an old school type of Strong Safety. But in this era of football when he’s asked to tackle in space it’s a coin flip.

So maybe LB would be a better fit.

I dont think Machado would be the worst LB prospect on the roster. He's probably 2 years away from doing anything though. Carter probably needs to get moved to WLB, MCCloud to MLB with Huff & Brooks (LEARNING BOTH POSITIONS) backing them up.

Ummmm that’s the thing. He probably will never reach 210....and Feeley is far from the issue here. He’s the only bright spot at this program. Keshawn is a twig...with a thin frame to boot.

Anyone saying this cat can get up to 220 lbs is beyond delusional. Not even Romeo is 220 lbs, and he has/had infinitely more growth potential than Washington.

Steed and Jennings have been nothing. Granted they have been injured but what’s stopping them from getting injured again?
The fact they don't play because of being injured is probably stopping them from getting injured again.

Gotta play to get injured--usually.

I've seen him in person...if a team can't get his weight up, then their strength and conditioning stinks. He's thin, yeah...but if you can't get a 6'2"-6'3" player that could carry 200 to 210-220ish, idk wtf you're doing. Unlimited mealz at Chartwells can get you there.

All I know, is there are plenty of Keshawn Washingtons around the country that get their weight up and move positions. ****, we made a living on converting these types of players in the 80s and early 90s. Now all of a sudden we can't? Sounds like a problem.

The issue is adding weight, especially that much, usually reduces speed - speed is one of his biggest weaknesses right now.
