If they are sitting him because of the public ridicule, that is the worst thing to do to him as an athlete--and more importantly a person. As much as I loathe what he did on the field, something tells me that appearing on "C'mon Man" is enough of a kick in the *** to not be a lazy defender and to be better. The public rightfully trashed that costly down, but it is only a down. Coach should help him pick his *** up off the floor and make up that one deficient play the remainder of the season by balling out and getting on a ESPN Top 10 seg. It's easy to trash a man when he's down. Coach should get him in there and build him back up.
If it's legit team violation, then okay. Guy needs to sit out.
I highly doubt they are suspending solely due to public ridicule, lol. Our kids have been embarrassed a million times over the past 15 years, kid probably did some dumb sh*t.
