Gundy was just making a scene. He went off on dude in front of everybody when he benched him. So then he goes out there and acts like he's defending him. Those guys saw right through it.

Yes, he was. Maybe the kids felt he was being to overbearing. Like, "Coach, we can answer these questions, We understand that you're a man.... and you're 40, but we're big boys (pun definitely intended), ok? We can handle it.
