Griffin Update

My bad. Why the **** do I always call this guy Stuckley? LOL. Thanks for the correction.

Is he too big for defensive side of the ball? (Height wise) I want to get some of these freaks on defense too. Can he play Safety or OLB? I havent seen the kids film so I dont know just going off what some posters have said on here...

I have Coley and Griffin starting my WR corps in NCAA 14, in year 3. Needless to say, it's really not fair for the CPU even on Heisman.

Griffin is up to 230 according to that story.

Our Mike Evans.

I think that is a good weight for him. Personally, I would rather see him out wide rather than lined up as a TE. I think his athleticism could present mismatches either way though.

Hope he gets his academics in order.

I agree.
Don't know why people just assume he's a tight end because he's 6'5" or taller.
If this kid comes in around 235lbs, with great basketball hands, and a huge vertical, then watch out.
On his basketball tape he looks to get up to almost 12 feet two handed.
If he learns to run sharp routes he will be unstoppable.

I get your point, but people don't assume he's a tight end because he's 6' 5" or taller. He's like 6' 7". Maybe he's the evolution of WRs, but realistically it's extremely difficult to sink your hips at that size/weight. That is what makes your last sentence (learn to run sharp routes) a difficult proposition.

Part of being a great basketball player is having good hips. Great ones cut on a dime on the hardwood.
From griffin's tape he is not some big, lumbering center who just backs a guy up and throws up a hook.
This guy runs the floor extremely well and sharply changes direction, then explodes to the hoop.
Looks very quick.
Even if he can't sink into his cuts like say, Wes Welker, and instead even rounds his cuts, I haven't seen any 6'7" high flying corners ever in the NFL, much less college football.
Like saying you would take a 20 year old Michael Jordan and turned him into a tight end.
Shaquille yes. Alonzo mourning yes.
Dr. J wide receiver. Jordan wide receiver.
If Calvin Johnson was a high school senior, would you turn him into a tight end?
I'm not saying that is griffin's ceiling in football or basketball.
His athletic gifts and size say that's his ceiling. The realization comes with hard work and a little luck with injuries.

From what I've seen of him running routes, he's not Calvin Johnson in that respect. Basically, you're saying he'll be a WR, correct? I think he'll be a hybrid player. We shall see.

I don't know how Calvin Johnson ran routes in high school. If he was like most top athletes he probably ran mediocre routes at best.
Wr. Tight end. Hybrid wr/te.
As long as he's a Cane.
The coaches will put him where he can do the most damage.

If he has the athleticism, I'd prefer him to stay at WR. I think he can make the fastest and biggest impact at that position for a couple reasons: a. we don't throw the ball to the TE; b. he's played WR his whole life, and it's rare to see that kind of guy be willing/able to do the blocking we require of our TEs. Freak talents like this need to play right away and help you win by putting points on the scoreboard. He's more likely to accomplish that at WR.
