Administration got lucky. At last moment Mark got fired and they had their perfect coach -- clean, proven to lose the games that count, loved to suspend players, no threat to bring THE U back, but high name recognition and family. Butch would have recruited what would be at least the 4 greatest team ever(assumes bags would hurt.), and either of the other two were threat to actually win another NC and that is against internal rules.

I can't anymore with buth would do this or butch would do that. You don't know. You just don't. I'm as aware as you of what he did in the past, but there's no way to tell what he'd do now.

I'm not asking you to give up the butch dream cold turkey, let's just start with admitting we don't know what he would do at Miami right now.

All true. You are right, we don't know and he might have the same crap results. Thing is, the same is true of anyone they hire, as we just found out yet again. Butch built and help build all of our NC teams save one. I would rather gamble one more time with him than anyone else. Truth is, Foote and Donna wanted the football program submissive even if killing is was required. Foote did not expect Butch to succeed, he was a mistake. We re dead unless they make another one.

He did, however, build a team so good it could give Larry Coker a 24-1 record for his first two years.

People on here seriously regret that we didn’t hire Greg Schiano?

God, I’ve seen it all.

Schiano did have the big win over Louisville in 2006.

But his second biggest “achievement” in 11 years at Rutgers was probably a moral victory in which his team lost at home by 25 points. (Yeah, probably the only 25 point loss in CFB history that’s considered a moral victory.) In a game that nobody except Miami and Rutgers fans remembers in the least.
