Barry Jackson wrote today in his article that Greg Rosseau was out potentially for the rest of the season. I thought it was definitive that he’d be missing the entire season. Do any insiders on this board anybody have any intel on the severity of the injury and how his recovery process is going? With the new redshirt rule he could return at the end of the year, play meaningful snaps, and still retain his redshirt status.

Someone stated they saw him on campus still not walking on that injured leg. Ankles take a while to heal so I’d assume he’s done for the year with the possibility of playing the last couple of games to preserve that redshirt since he’s only played in 2.

It depends what kind of fracture he had and what they did to repair it.

This injury hurts, his development was crucial for next year esp if jj leaves early

Hopefully Patchan makes a big jump over the offseason

But why risk it for a potential first rounder? Just shut him down. Give him extra time to heal and have him 100% by mat drills.
i never said risk it. I said "if he is ready" .. and to answer your question, reps his freshman year could equate to a much more ready and lethal player next year.

Kid Is Going To Be A Beast. Guaranteed. Sure, it hurts that he won't be getting extended game reps, but it not like he doesn't have any kind of experience. He saw a very physical LSU team and earned some strips on Greentree. Off-season program w/ Gus + OT w/ Jess Simpson = 1st/2nd All Conference.

he's still using the scooter to keep the leg elevated as of yesterday.

Exactly. He won't play unless he's absolutely 100% healthy, and like you said, for only the last two games of the year. If I were Richt I'd keep him sidelined until the bowl game, unless he's healthy early, and needed. I just don't see him playing again this year.
