You just jogged my memory. What about RB Larry Jones in the 1991 Orange Bowl vs Nebraska?
 
1978, we played Auburn on the road, no TV, Auburn was on probation.
Entering the 4th quarter we were down 8 points. We put up a good scrap, i thought.
Then Otis Anderson went Bat Crap.
I may be wrong, radio & all, but i think he ran it every play in the 4th.
It was the end of the Dark Ages & the beginning of the Renaissance for Hurricane Football..

Apoplectic would be a good description of my mood right after that play call. Let them hang around in a game that should have been a laugher.
 
Lived in raleigh my whole life so I’m partial to when the Canes beat the triangle schools. All my friends being at state in 2012 I gotta say Stephen torching Amerson. They legit to this day still believe he was shaving points that day. Also Corn and the whole return team on “the return.” It wasn’t on tv up here so I had to watch it on my phone at a Halloween party and went crazy after Njoku’s crackback

BTW, Mainline, this thread is slightly more enjoyable than your other one on opposing players who had great games vs UM.

This isn't an all time epic performance. But when Duke ran for 135 and 2td's on 7 carries in his 1st college game vs BC i was pretty ecstatic.
 
A recent one for me was believe it or not Dallas Crawford against NC the same game Ebron made his money off a Doritos defense. Not trying to get over any players already mentioned, just adding a name.

Ottis Anderson singlehandedly beating Florida in Gainesville in 1978 on smoking hot day in early November. Miami beat Florida for the first time since 1970. He had 30 carries in the second half on astroturf and 39 for the game. Every yard he picked up was grinding ahead 3 or 4 yards a pop. I think Miami threw maybe 2 passes in the second half. Miami shocked Florida in the 4th quarter down 14-3 at half and pulled it out 22-21.

On his last TD he ran through 4-5 Gators....
 
Living on the West Coast I was privileged to attend the 2001 National Championship Game, won by the greatest college team of the modern era.

I would nominate the entire team, but, if I have to be selective I would pick co-winners Ken Dorsey and Andre Johnson. Johnson had 7-199 and 2 TDs, and most of that in the first half.

I only wish Larry Coker had not called off the dogs up 34-0 at halftime. Miami could, and should, have made a statement and rolled 60+ up on Nebraska.

Favorite moment of the game was James Scott taking a pick 6 to the house and tossing the ball in front of Oregon HC Mike Bellotti, who was sitting off to the side of the endzone, near the ABC/ESPN booth. All the *****-talk about Oregon could have beaten Miami.

At least I remember it that way.
